Started the day with 88k and have folded the first orbit including btn in unraised pot, table is 8 handed at 300-600. Immediate left is JohnnyBax (older nit) Brock Pakrer (unknown style) Tony Gargao?? (played a couple of cash sessions with him in Vegas don't know much about his game other than a spot where he floated an 886 board then checked back a 9 on the turn and called when river was A with AT vs my QQ in 25-50 4 handed)

So the hand in question, folds to me in the HJ i open  to 1500, Parker calls BTN, Tony calls SB flop rolls out a rather delightful

Tony checks i cbet 2400, Parker folds Tony calls.

Turn  he check calls again this time 6k

River this is where my question is, how much do we bet and what do we do if we get raised (obviously that's what ends up happening)

by my rekoning excuse me if im wrong its late and im tired! But instead of doing revision for exams im reading through blonde.. great times

In the pot is ish 20K and you have 75K behind..? assumeing he has you covered here as well

Disclaimer way way way.... above my level but always nice to throw my 2pence in and see how wrong i am! Smiley

I probably bet between 10-15k here your hand is very disguised and so is his. assuming he check raises which i assume he does it just feels wierd.. stone cold nuts being the   would he check this to you again on the river? and risk you checking behind with any hand he is more then likely to get value out of?

To cut this short i think im calling here any of his bets. Its tough for him to put you on a full house. More likely i think he can put you on a big club. or mabye 8x type hands. In my opinon a lot of his check raising hands here are going to be worse full houses. things like 46 47 Does he have 77 or 66 here i dont think so more likely 77 then 66 as i think he folds 66 on turn at least.

the hand im thinking he has though (due to you posting it!!) is probably   . And ive just Bust 25K! Looking forward to see what the pros say Tongue

8900 --> call ?

i don't know the guy but over peeling the sb and check calling flop and turn, we should only lose to 1 combo of 88 and 3 combo's of 77 right?

fairly standard b/f given that he can have every better boat, can have the and its a spot where (in my experience anyway) people don't tend to just take off and c/r 4flush rivers on paired boards?

Yeah definitely thought this first, bet smallish to rep a non-nut flush and induce from a ton of hands. I think the fact that he can have a bigger boat is pretty significant though.

Should've specified, didn't mean to include 66 but I think its very plausible that he plays 88 and 77 this way

sure but thats very few combo's of hands since we have an 8

looks like a reasonable spot to induce is all.

Is just checking behind on river out of the question?

What do we look like to him other than 3 street bluffs and high clubs?

I'm most likely bet-calling unless he gets too greedy with his raise. Can legitimately chalk this one up to a cooler if he 2.3x's your river bet I think.

yh i think so. we have bluffs here and a legitimatly wide(ish) value range so would be kinda bad not to bet. it is kinda scary though! I think tony would raise 88 on the flop more often than c/cand whereas hes defo more than capable he is defo way less likely than others to turn stuff into bluffs

Oop check/call check/call check/raise seems pretty strong to me but I am a bit nitty but then again so is our image in this hand as we have folded an orbit inc button. If we bet at all it's a 25% pot kinda blocker bet to rep 88 or which is probably what he has anyway. Then fold river. He gotta have em.

It's a great hand tho. Kinda easy to get in tough spots when opening with hands like these don't you think?
