This thread is making me feel that my food hygiene practises are insufficient.

If it's still cold (fridge temperature) and you've got reason to believe it's only been off overnight, just freeze it again surely.

If it's at 28C for 4 days and attracting flies, it's time for a tasty feed for big dogs.

No No No!

Refrigeration just slows down the growth rate of bacteria. Freezing stops them from growing. But each time you do this you put the meat through a cycle of bacteria growth, and when you defrost ready for cooking you  have many more to start multiplying to dangerous levels.

this is especially dangerous if using meat for Barbeques where you will have raw a cooked meat in close proximity to each other.

It's fine mate. I sought a lot of advice before putting Ronnie on a raw diet and anything frozen is fine.

He's been on a mix of normal dog food and frozen raw meat for 4 years and he looks ok to me Smiley
