Played Ivey twice before.
The first was this event:
http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/event.php?a=r&n=1472I was chip leader with two tables to go, when we redrew.
Ivey gets the seat two to my left.
It was the very start of the "poker boom" (season one of the wpt) and Ivey was young and hungry for success. He was completely unplayable.
It felt like my cards were face up to him. Every time I had a hand he folded, every time I had little enough to fold to a reraise he put the pressure on.
I was almost in tears of frustration after 6 or 7 hours of this.
He took a huge a proportion of my chips but suffered 2 huge beats in the space of 10 minutes to bust about 12th.
I prefer to recall the other time I played against him. It was at the starting in a side event at the WSOP about 3 or 4 years ago.
He was distracted, looked he wanted to be anywhere else than at that poker table.
He pissed away his chips in about 20 minutes and went to play craps or bet a million on a basketball game or something.
Hopefully Ivey mkII shows up today. Although reports I've been hearing are he's in full beast mode at this series.
*gulp*
