Turn King.
He checked, I bet, he raised I called.
River x, he shoved, I folded and he showed K8.
Few hands later, I had 30k ish left.
Button minraised I defended with A8.
Flop AQ7.
He bet 2k, I made it 7k. He called.
I shoved a 7 turn, he called with 75.

Tough breaks Keith.
I'm not sure how we ever get off these spots, or "put him on" hands like that.
The Training Videos don't explain this sort of stuff.
He can never have 7-5 there.
Oh yes he can......

I really liked my hand on the flop.
I figure I'm only losing to a monster AQ, QQ, 77 possibly a slow played AK, because any other big ace would set me in there and then I think.
I felt he had Ace tiny or KQ/QJ.
Feeling a little better today, was pig sick yesterday for sure.
Not going to bother with one drop, will have a day off - might play the $1500 tomorrow and the main event on Sunday.

ya they do you range them up
villain should be bet calling his whole range on the flop, there is no reason for him to 3bet unless it's as a bluff with weak equity and he thinks hero can r/f marginal hands.
once we c/r the A8 we're going to lose a big pot on that turn, would prefer to just c/c the flop with this hand, it's too strong to c/f and too weak to c/r imo.

I'm off to play the 10am Mega Keith. These ones are the best of the lot. You and I would be among the youngest there - I mean who gets up at 10am?

With 32 bbs, what do you think my best play is?
3bet pre?
And lead flop?
Fold pre?
Or c/c flop and do what on the turn when the 7 hits?
I mean, once I've seen the flop I'm destined to go broke here aren't I?

Got to change hotels - Cosmo wanted $600 for a place to rest my weary head tonight - or I would have been in for sure.

Pretty sure they'll have lots of time for late reg.
I'm obviously feeling very cheery. Been up since 7.30am.
All will be great until somebody fucks it up.

it's incred watching the slow speed of the people entering the rio conference center 8am-10am. it's vegas people the only reason I am there to see it is i've been there 15 hours and i'm stuck so cant leave ldo.
we can peel pre keith then c/c flop, keeps his bluffs/2 outers in, by c/r we might struggle to get action from KQ (if he cbets that), by c/r A8 we are saying we think he opens super wide, cbets super wide and probably too thin and just doesn't fold to aggression on (what I assume is a rainbow board) dry boards. if he's just cbet folding a tonne we do take the pot down here, but we win the min from bluffs, and instantly stack ourselves vs all better hands of which all of them are in his range. we don't want to be in a spot where we c/r the flop he calls and our hand shrinks up and we're thinking about folding.
think with your experience you should be c/c'ing flop and re-evaluating, once you c/c and it comes with the 7 on the turn pairing up the bottom card and he bets again our hand wont look good and will relatively be a bluff catcher against all but the most ridiculous opponents. think using your experience there will be times when you can fold down the streets because you don't think he is capable of having many bluffs and has shown alot of strength.

Is his call of my c/r really standard?
I mean, if I have 70k, fine. (Altho if I have 70k I'm obv not raising the flop)
But he's getting very little in the way of implied odds. I've got about 20k behind and he's going to miss the turn 90% of the time.

it's 'speculative' and depends how he thinks you're ranging up your c/r here.
it's not going to be Qx, sets are hard, two pairs might c/c some %, you will have 3bet some stronger hands preflop that could be c/r on this flop. if you had top set after flatting you wouldn't now c/r as he can barely have any combos to continue. if you are c/r'ing as a bluff then you likely have KJ or KT type gutter ball hands which pairs are ahead of. Think this b/c is probably bad as you will more than not just be going for thinnish value (though I would by default assume that if you had an Ax hand it would be a stronger than A8 combo).
