And we're back. 400-800/100 are the forced betting amounts.

the td gave a incorrect ruling according to dtd riules? u sure . most places if u put in more than 50% than a call its araise but i dont know there ruling. tbf they dont get many wrong

+1 unless the player sticks in a single chip which can be way in excess of 50% in which case it's a call.

The ruling must be right. The min raise here is to 1700 so how can 2 chips totalling 2000 not be a raise??

I did query this with Ryan, the TD involved.

He did state the TDA rules above but also confirmed that 2 different coloured chips or 2k with more than 2 chips would have been a raise. The reason given for the 2k in 2 green chips being a call was the same as above - take one out and it's less than a call.

Taken from the Official TDA Rules website...

http://www.pokertda.com/custom_posts/view-official-tda-rules/

39:   Multiple Chip Betting
When facing a bet, unless a raise is first declared, multiple same-denomination chips is a call if removing one chip leaves less than the call amount. Example of a call: preflop, blinds are 200-400: A raises to 1200 total (an 800 raise), B puts out two 1000 chips without declaring raise. This is just a call because removing one 1000 chip leaves less than the amount needed to call the 1200 bet. Placing mixed denomination chips in the pot is governed by the 50% standard in Rule 37.

Dealer ruled it as a raise, TD confirmed it should be a call.

Narendra Ruparel is either going to win this or bust in the next 2 levels.

He just won a 50k pot when calling down Rastafish and Pete Haslam with Q-4os on a three clubs board. Haslam mucked and Rasta had J-10. The table laughed as apparently Ruparel likes hands with a 4 in them - a few times now I've seen him show down Q-4 and K-4!

Someone has OUT-FISHED the FISH!

Ruparel has been limping a LOT of hands - pretty much playing 95/0 in a £500 comp. Anyway, he limps UTG again and Rasta isolates to 3k. Renee Xie and Sean Robertson then call, and naturally Ruparel calls.

The flop is a drawtastic and Rasta, first to act, shoves 14.4k. Xie and Robertson fold. Ruparel....calls! On their backs we go....

Rasta:

Ruparel: !

Needless to say, the board naturally ran out three clubs then the - sending the fish to the rail after being out-fished!

Ruparel is awesome to watch, some of the hands people are getting into with him are unbelievable. Would make for a great final table if he can survive that long!

For example, the hand before the Rasta bust, he's limped and Bash Mahmood has isolated. Rasta calls behind knowing Ruparel is going to call and the three see a two spades flop. Amazingly enough, the rest of the hand plays out as follows...

Ruparel - lead for 2200.
Bash - Raise to 8000
Rasta - fold
Ruparel - flat

Turn:

Ruparel: check
Bash: Bet 11000
Ruparel: call

River:

Both players check.

Hands at showdown?

Ruparel:

Bash: three clubs

I rest my case. Joobs had to come and literally pick my jaw up off the ground.
