Figured my line looks really weird to him, can value town himself with ak, aq, fold the same hand, call with Ax spades, worse two pair, aT, and it's not completely outside the realm of possibility that I floated oop with overs and backdoor equity like kqss.

Not too sure tho, c/c seemed like I'd lose out on a fair bit of hand, as I think my hand here is alot stronger than it ought to be.

Think pre is standard, would appreciate thoughts on any parts of the hand you think are interesting/would do different

Think you played it perfectly imo. Really unlucky to run into the top of his range, because you almost certainly get called by one pair hands and worse two pair hands.

hey,

i think folding pre flop is fine/good we dont have any huge implied odds and its pre antes so no need to get busy yet.

folding pre did genuinely cross my mind. like a9o is snap fold, feel like i'd prefer to three bet ato rather than flat (if I hadn't folded that is), i think ajo is just good enough to get value from the villains range? but related to the idea of not getting too busy, thats why I was contemplating c/c otr, i have a relatively large stack if I lose, but thought that he had enough worse hands in his range to make c/r profitable, as I expect to win there pretty often (either by getting worse to call, or when he folds).

what are you doing with hands like a5s-aTs pre pleno/everyone?

+1

I would also look to play this pretty passively pre antes. There's always so much set mining in these early levels without any really decent reads on opponents and. I'm happy to chck/call 3 streets, potentially picking up a 40bb pot with a 4/1 river call. I'm just weary of doing half of my stack while we're still pretty deep and miles from the $$$

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.
