Always struck me as one of the good guys and to come so close must be horrible, but as Jase will tell you, second is pretty good too

I'm really chuffed that he found time today to email me personally to tell me about some exciting training videos too
Nothing can hurt worse than 2nd in a braclet event. It's bad enough finishing 2nd at anytime but when it's for the holy grail of poker it is that being so close that cuts you up. Still plenty of time for Neil imo

Whilst I agree with this in one sense I'm sure there are worse things. He has 400,000 reasons to feel better altho obv he ultimately wanted gold
Pretty sure he would take winning £70k and a braclet. Those 400,000 reasons are worth about 70p each. To a lot of guys the braclet is worth a lot more than quite large sums of money. He is adored by everyone in Ireland and winning the Irish open meant a lot more than a majority of the 810,000 eeee ors.

My last statement was not meant to be a rub. I showed my love for Neil doing the $5 satellite spin to a well documented 2nd place in Marrakesh then wore his blackbelt patches for a couple of seasons. Try tell me who has ever looked that devestated at winning that sort of money and you would be pretty hard pressed to find someone. Neil has been a positive influence on many of the uks players and provided many of em a step onto the first rung of the ladder. There are not many harder working guys in poker and it's not just for his own benefit

The point I'm making Jase is it's not the "worst thing that could have happened" Don't disagree he really wanted a bracelet. Would be interesting to know whether he'd now pay 330k for one

Yes it is quite funny that we are devestated that he has won 400k. He would never pay any amount for a braclet I don't think but might just give all the cash up to have sucked out when he had Henry Lu all in and covered. Smiley

I wouldn't normally put a link up, but Anne Laymond's photo set of Neil's final table is a must look

Skills.

i honestly don't know Jason, I kinda hope he is just mental but the chances are it was a bet...

in one of the purest moments of the summer someone on the rail started to mock him, at which point he turned to them and said;

"Yh - Come back when you have a customised bahama's visor"

Impossible to come back from that lol

actually he wasn't even the most hilarious railer, supporting the guy who won was this really big black guy, who was asleep for the majority of the final, then occasionally woke up and started shouting things like

"Put him in a coma"

"Make Neil kneel"

"Smash his knee-caps, don't let him breathe"

"That right boy, get all the pringles"

"NO GREASE, we don't need no vaseline"

"SLice him up like sushi son"

Pretty hilarious

The British rail seemed quiet. Have you all been shown the yellow card?
