yh was in some make up hence couldnt pay at the time. then my stars account got locked  / is currently locked and despite upwards of 100 emails back and forth with stasr, its yet to be unlocked. Not sure if it will be unlocked in the immediate future. He knows this, so semi surprised he decided to post at this time, but obviously lewis can do as he pleases.

Been a year Marc, should have sorted it out by now.

Do you have information on Marcs financial situation, MU situation or how much of that tourney he was playing for/got for himself?  Or are you just guessing that Marc wouldve got enough of it that he could afford to pay the rest?

With the stakes he plays at and the fact he crushes it whilst putting in a ton of volume it's hard to see how this isn't a pisstake at the very least ? Three months/Six months/1 year+, it's a pretty long time to wait for money that should've been paid at the time, obv.

Yeah this.  If I was owed this amount of money by someone earning 25k a year in a normal job I would expect it to be paid off within a year unless there were extenuating circumstances.  A quick look at OPR suggests he made $174k on Stars last year, $10k this year and we know of a GBP50k cash live too.  It is hard to imagine he hasn't had the cash to pay this off.  I understand he might be backed and have been in makeup for periods of this but it seems fairly unlikely he hasnt earnt enough to make a decent dent in this if not pay it all off.

He is right though Frankie. The person I feel sorry for is Lewis. He has been more than reasonable
the whole way through but that's the trouble because liars/cheats/fraudsters prey on the vunerable
and weak.

There's enough evidence around for Lewis to try and get his money back through the small claims
court. Admittedly he might not get it if Mark has no assets but at least it would be on the record
for all to see.

I know one or two people who have said to me that Mark is a really nice lad but then again the same might
have been said about Bernie Madoff and Alan Stanford.

This is a difficult thing really.......

Marc is not the bad lad some make him out to be, but he gets a bit out of control sometimes. There but for the grace of God go many of us. I truly do not think he deliberately sets out to short-change anyone.

I spent some time with him in Vegas last year, sort of work-related, & he was as good as gold, caused me no issues. Unfortunately, this Lewis story broke at exactly the time Marc was going deep in the Main, so that was a bit awkard, as the usual haters were out on force for Sky, & me, as well as Marc, so I never once commented or involved myself in the Modding at that time. He qualified fair & square, so there was no way, or reason, not to allow him the Seat & package he had won.

Fast foward to yesterday.

Several respected blondes wrote to Tighty &/or myself yesterday, wanting the Thread re-opened, apparently there was a lot of noise about it on 2+2.

The Mods view was not unanimous, but a decision was made, right or wrong, to re-open the thread. I eventually made the decision, after about 5 hours, because, at the time, nobody else (Mod-wise) was around, so it's down to me, either way. I may have got it wrong, I'm not really sure.

Overnight, Marc has written to blonde, displeased that we have re-opened the thread. Easy to understand his angst. He explained that he is going through a tough time in his life right now, on & off the poker table, & nobody will enjoy hearing that I hope.

He also feels that some folks on the thread have a "hate campaign" in progress. I don't believe that is true, certainly not from those who asked for the thread to be re-opened. I genuinely think they are trying to help Marc.

Marc just needs to ensure, in this difficult time for him, that he keeps all the communication lines open. Honestly, "it's good to talk" is the best way forward, given the spot he is in.  I don't believe there is any general vindictiveness towards him here. If any silly stuff or trolling arises itt, it will be removed.

He has sold plenty of action on blonde since last year, & paid everyone promptly.

He does not owe me a bean, so I'm just a bystander really. But this is the thing.........I've had people owe me money more times than enough, & I've owed others money, too. And the thing which generally grates more than anything else is when folks who owe money are still gambling. That would make anyone very cross, to be honest.

The nut result here would be for Marc to communicate openly, be completely honest, & explain his position, &, moving forward, get everything sorted. If he opens the communication lines I'm pretty sure he'd be well-received for doing it, the blondes as a whole are a very reasonable & decent bunch.   

Hopefully it will all get sorted & put to bed satisfactorily very soon.

Well I hope the other mods will assist in that decision, & I've no obections to closing it. The position yesterday was awkward, because several folks wrote to Tighty & I, asking that it be re-opened, & we were a bit short of active Mods yesterday. It was about 1.30 am when I opened it, maybe I'd have been better sleeping on it, but for once, I failed to dither.

I actually think if it were put to the vote it'd be a close call either way, as many are for as against.
