Meh 92 Team was awesome in its time but do you not think 20 years on the game has evolved so far that they could not keep up physically.

Just wow.

Half the posters on here will be too young to remember this lot in their prime.

Robinson and Ewing - brilliant centres.
Larry Bird - simply amazing from the free-throw line or from 'downtown' with the 3-pointers.
Clyde "The Slide" Drexler was an amazing forward, although someone at that time often over-shadowed him.
Charles Barkley was a beast, and an incredible competitor.
John Stockton and Carl Malone were a brilliant combination for Utah.  I used to play a bit of basketball, and Stockton was my hero (the 6' 2" short-arse:D)
Magic Johnson - legend
Then the two from the Bulls, Pippen who was immense, but again overshadowed by the greatest player to have ever played the game...

(used to have that poster on my wall).

The man was a genius on the court.  Defensively or offensively, the man was incredible.  Not so good at baseball though.

Listened to Scottie Pippen talking in the commentary on last night's USA game, he said 92 team by 25 as well, and that maybe 3 of this team would get in the Dream Team, guessing Lebron, Kobe and Durrant, think that sounds about right. Dream Team would kill them inside, who's gonna guard Robinson/Eming and Barkley/Malone?

The fitness, speed and endurance of athletes has improved no end in 20 years.

Think it was a stupid comment to make but not impossible that 2012 could win.

I'd certainly back football teams of today to beat football teams of 20 years ago.

Some friends of mine went around Anfield a few years back and I think it was Ray Houghton who was there at the time.

They asked him the question about the Liverpool team of the 80s in relation to the premiership sides of the time.

He was of the opinion that the Liverpool side would be lucky to nick a draw off even the bottom sides in the premiership such was their superior fitness etc.

The players of the 80s would hammer a steak and a few pints of an evening, nowadays the players live, sleep and breathe the game, the modern day players are just finely tuned machines and he didn't think they would live with them.

I was assuming it mean in comparison to players of that time. Obviously Pele wouldn't get a game for Brazil today etc

To be fair to the 2012 team you can add Rose and Howard.

Daft even for Kobe.

Barkley got it right: only 3 of today's squad make the 92 squad
