Ty. Brand new venue could be massive success there with Manchester and Sheffield players. I predict a sell out

I played Stoke Genting once the dealing was substandard(to put it politely). I know where i would be no brainer.

I'm playing Stoke and if i bust may go play at DTD. Obv DTD will be better in terms of dealers and organisation. But the GPS has a great structure, smaller field, loads of sat qualifiers and a trophy possibly? If u are under it then DTD is half the buy in so makes a lot more sense.

Have to say I'm a little bit disappointed that a Genting rep was not allowed to reply to Fraser's post and address his concerns regarding the GPS. I do understand the political situation and respect that the forum and its owners/sponsors can allow what they want on their own site, but surely a right to reply is still allowed if done in a professional and "non-spammy" way?

These type of situations throw out some tough calls. It's tricky for replies not to be in part commercial.

The agreement with DTD is that representatives of other tours don't post on here (except in a non professional capacity I suppose as you do Karl, you don't post about Encore on here). I know the Genting representative meant well, but we were being consistent with that.

Went down to The Fox Club with Julian to Play Leg 2 of The Genting Tour in March.

On Arrival Julian was informed he would be playing at another casino and was immediately put into a taxi .  It turned out lots had been drawn as the Fox didnt have the capacity to seat everybody.

Nobody really seemed to know what was happening and I had to wait 4 hours before my seat became available. It was hot and sweaty and the players were crammed in like Sardines , with lack of information and little or no valet service it was hard to concentrate on the poker.

I made day 2 and cashed for £1300ish but when I went to collect I was told I would need to come back with my passport or driving license before they paid out ,which I thought was strange considering they let me join the casino and play the tournament . I eventually got my money after an hour negotiating .

Overall it was a bad experience though appreciate things could be different at other Genting venues .

Ill be playing at Dusk Till Dawn

I thought most casinos had a policy of showing ID when cashing out over a certain amount?

With regards to the overspill, 580 players turned up to play at the Fox, which was much more than ever expected.  To accomodate them all, players were put in taxis that Genting paid for, and taken to play at the Palm Beach.

It was very hot on day one A but that was sorted out for the remainder of the week. I can't work out why you would have had to wait 4 hours for your seat though, or do you mean you were an alternate and you had to wait four hours for A seat?

Not sure why my initial post was deleted or why Gentings were not allowed to answer as my comments were purely based on my experience in London .

I did say things could be different at other Genting venues and this proved to be the case yesterday. Having won a seat through a prop bet , I duly took my place in Stoke and found the event to be well run, in a spacious setting with very attentive valets and good access to information.

Dusk till Dawn will always be my spiritual home, but I wanted to give a balanced view and offer credit to Gentings for a well organised Stoke leg .

Played stoke yesterday on my free entry due to the flopped aces promotion in London leg.

In my first two levels got AA, QQ, JJ  set of 9's, quad kings, yet had less than half my starting stack by the time I flopped nut straight in level 3. All in on flop v bottom two pair and out when he improves to house on river.

Re entered. Had Pocket aces twice only got blinds and antes. Had P Kings twice and lost both hands.

How to run good with starting hands and bad with results. Not my day.

DTD here I come Saturday!

Looks like both events are going to be happy with numbers, which is great to see.

The dates/times have worked out well, so many players can play both if they want.

Annual Midlands festival FTW.  Smiley
