Gonna host BBQ for my nans birthday in couple weeks, be mainly family haven't seen in ages
Looking for ideas, from the ridiculous to the sublime. Anything will be considered although I'd rather not have to buy any additional equipment or dig any holes. Basically want some "Wow" ideas or dishes that you've seen before

You could hire a Hog Roast? Impressive stuff, if everyone likes a good bit of pork..

I've made really nice lamb burgers before using...
Lamb mince (c80g/burger) Mango Chutney (3 tablespoons/500g of mince) Apple Sauce (1 tablespoon/500g of mince) Finely chopped fresh mint (Sensible amount)
Mix it all together, form into patties, leave to chill for a bit ahead of bbq'ing in order that they can firm up.
4-5 mins each side should do it.
Serve in a bap with rocket and a bit of mango chutney.

Just nip into Waitrose. Quality shop with top quality food . They will have a whole host of ready prepared stuff that looks great and tastes amazing . Dont wanna fk about peeling and mixing ingredients to cook up (unless its for a large jug pimms ) If you like fish the marinated sardines are the nuts , also the sea bream excellent Meat : wont go far wrong with their aberdeen angus burgers , pork belly slices marinated in a range of flavours, or chicken pieces. Steaks are great if you wanna spend a few quid more : )
fkin starvin now .. poxy diets : (

Saw a funny tweet the other day:
"Holding a BBQ today. Everyone welcome. Burgers, Steaks, chops and sausages. There is also a vegetarian option: They can fuck off."
Made me laugh anyways.

What people want is good food forget about the fancy stuff/ Steaks etc . IMO You need the best produce to begin with. Folk want a good Hotdog and a tasty Burger. Boneless skin less chicken thighs with Barb b q Flava glaze. This chap would put you a box together for you. Also if you wanted fancy he could advise for sure. http://www.jtbeedham.co.uk/Regards M

Simple but effective - cut up some large butternut squash pieces, sprinkle with oil and wrap them individually in kitchen foil. Stick them on the less hot part of the BBQ and leave them for ages. They end up caramelising and are soft in the middle if you cook them slow enough. They will go dark on the outside even inside the foil. Take them off when you can slice through them easily.
The monkfish dish above sounds good as well.

Strawberry daiquiris and Mojito slushies are lovely if it's hot out. Easy to make and most people really enjoy them. Give a shout if you want a list of ingredients.

Those are LOVELY, although I don't usually bother with the marshmallow side of it.

Got Alaskan King Crab Legs and an Ostrich egg last time from there!
