Typically Day1a starts at 5pm or 7pm

Day 1b on a Saturday has been run with a 2pm start, or a 5pm start

Which Saturday start time do you prefer, and why?

Please vote, and please post your opinions

Rob stated

"i would prefer we started Saturday at 2pm but we always get more runners...... at a later start time, I'm interested in player feedback on Saturday start times, earlier is better for the club for cash games but we do our conkers on gtes in summer when we do 2pm starts"

I prefer earlier start time so I can get home earlier.

Possible suggestion: Run two flights on Saturdays?

I prefer the 5pm start time as living in the arse end of Essex and being a recreational player can still work as I do most Saturdays and leave a coupleof hours early at 2pm and still get there on time as opposed to late regging and for travelling players we have normally come with the idea of staying overnight therefore the late finish is not a problem.

But would you not play if it started at 2 pm Rich. My guess is that you would still play. Dtd get bigger overlays from the 2pm start but I am convinced it's coincidence. Who actually can't/won't  play because it starts 3 hours earlier. Poker players are degens and there are not many reasOns as to why they won't play. Being busto is the main one obv Smiley

The later the better for me.

Reason is because it gives me more time to do other stuff during the day before I set off to play.

Last post coz I'm boring myself. You would still play it it started ad 2 pm Matt even if you late reg'd. Just as I would play no matter what time it started.

It's best for Dtd to start earlier so just start earlier. Getting customer feedback is all well and good but look what happened with the Wsop sats. Loads of people said they wanted them and very few actually played em

No I wouldn't Jase so please don't make assumptions on my behalf.

2pm start with late reg up to 5pm is still a push for me. I prefer a 5pm start because it means I can late reg 'til 8pm.

I'd make the extra effort for a special comp like the £500k guarantee but usually I'd just give it a miss or try to play on the Friday.

I understand it's very different for pro poker players as they will play whatever time it starts. For a recreational player though there are more important things in life so poker has to fit around those.

Smiley said it would be last post. Not meant to offend Matt obv. Sad

5pm start Friday 2pm start Saturday. Job done

Recreational players are the ones Dtd need to please because it is down to that majority to hit gtd prizes or not

Well I would probably play the Friday then ala Matt or have to take the day off to play which then means a day off away from the family and influences whether I would play or not.
Obv for the bigger Gtd events I would find a way of getting there.

My point is you guys would still play these two day events even if you had to play Friday. Obv I understand there are more important things than poker ( I am playing Friday night this week, but have always played 1b Saturdays because it fits round the kids better).

Dtd want to know of people who wont play the comp because it starts at 2 pm on the Saturday. There must be people out there who have a reason to not play the tourney because it starts 3 hours earlier but I can't think of one. I just don't buy that the overlay is because of the 2pm start.

How about reducing the guarantee - that way you don't get stung on the overlay. Then you can see whether the extra revenue you get from cash games from the early start is more or less than the reduction in tourney fees you get from the fewer runners in the earlier comp.
