Argh, tilt.

Here I am merrily tapping away on my iPad connected fine to the Internet/router but my PC has no internet access through it.

I have a wired and wireless connection available, no joy with either.

Weirdly I tried a dongle and iPhone tether, and couldn't connect through these either, so presuming it's a PC problem of some description.

All was fine yesterday and I don't see why anything would have changed.

Have tried obvious things but googling hasn't heralded me any success as of yet. Any ideas? Sad

Edit: accessing the router through the IP address doesn't work either, weird. I can access it via iPad though.

Edit: I tried a different ethernet cable, same problem.

Have you tried turning it off and on?

Not afaik. The only thing I can think of is that McAfee quarantined something yesterday. But I can't find how to unquarantine it  and figured it was unlikely to be the problem.

Am restoring my system atm, one time please.

Have you checked device manager to see if there's a problem with your network adaptor?

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii system restore fixed it.

It only restored it at 8pm last night. The only thing that was different was that TableNinja updated. Surely TableNinja couldn't wipe out my internet?!?!

Problems like this are usually firewall/security software related.
Simple ping tests can be very helpful.

My internet dropped to a crawl today and I went on the BT site to see if there were any problems.  Apparently a McAfee update has caused problems accessing the net.
