are there mouse droppings anywhere?
Did you try my bait suggestion - wholemeal bread squeezed up in a little ball - as I said I tried this and caught the mouse first night. I placed it on the floor by a little gap between cupboards just under the workspace where it had been eating crumbs.
Yeah, tired wholemeal bread, Nutella, peanut butter, cheese, chocolate, and Primula and various combos. I even wasted a Malteser on them!
It must be my placement. I can't see where they're getting their food from, and why the bait isn't, well, baiting them.
I'm sure they're filming me ready to ship it off to
Britain's Dumbest Humans
. I got my hand snapped by one of the traps this morning.
Modifying my strategy tonight. There have been multiple (well, two) sightings under the fridge freezer, so have lined up four in a row down the side in between freezer and kitchen cabinets.

I know the whole situation is frustrating for you, so apologies, but I proper laughed at that line.

This thread's probably getting boring now, so apologies.
Change of strategy last night:
I put a line of four or five under the fridge as they'd been sighted there a two or three times, and also in the cupboard under the sink where there's a hole at the back.
Still no catch.
It's been two weeks now, so a little worried that, eventually, they'll do some damage to the pipes, which would be awkward, and expensive.
I'm going to give it one more night, then try mouse poison, although I'm not sure my local Homebase sells ones that are non-harmful to dogs.
If that doesn't work, is last resort to bring in the pros? Rentokil? Anyone had any experience with pest control services? What would they do? Having my kitchen cabinets, washing machine, etc pulled out doesn't sound fun, or cheap.

Try pulling the plinth off the bottom of kitchen cupboards and putting Poisen/ traps under there .....unless you've a small dog that can get under a tight space!
Note: the plinth should be on clips and come off easy!

Got one!
Appears as though mice aren't Jewish; bit of bacon did the trick. Trap #1 in the cupboard underneath the sink took the honours.
It was a very tense moment as he was still alive when I found him and was only trapped by a small part of his body. I was sure that I'd move the trap in the wrong direction and accidentally release him.
Managed to broom him into a Tupperware box, take him to the park and put him out of his misery.
Didn't enjoy bashing a mouse over the head as it took a few strikes.
He didn't look in great shape before his demise, which I hope is a good sign. I cleaned the cupboard and reset the trap.
Hopefully he was the only one; if not, then at least I know I can actually catch one.
Mice: 10, Human: 1
Am catching up.

Why did you kill it?
Surely just removing him from your house was enough!

Why take it all the way to the park to put it out of it's misery?

When I released him from the trap, his leg was mangled and he was struggling to move, so I felt it was the best thing to do.

Mouse killer
I thought you'd set them up in a lovely wee mouse house with flowers and cheese and stuff.
Now you're in for it. All his relations will come looking for him and they'll bring their big bully mates too. When they don't find him, all hell's gonna break loose. You're in big trouble Mr.

You should've hacked it's head off with a rusty razor blade then skewered it on to a cocktail stick as a warning to all the other mices.
That's what a real man would've done. None of this 'park' malarky.
