As soon as both players from the tie have sent me their answers I'll do the fixture reveal. Once all 16 cup answers are in, I'll reveal the full answers.

I didn't set a deadline since it was only 5 questions. I assume most will send as soon as they see questions.

The WarBwastard League Cup

24 players are entered into the first ever WarBwastard League Cup. 8 players will receive a bye into the 2nd round, 16 players will compete in the 1st round.

Players will go head-to-head with the player with the highest score progressing to the next round. There will be 5 questions, plus a tie-breaker. Please send your answers as soon as possible.

The top tie of the First Round sees Premier League player maldini32 face a tricky tie against good scorer Rubbish2407 from The Championship. Maldini will start favourite could a win for Rubbish wouldn't be a huge surprise. Premier League players horseplayer and craigbetts look to have been drawn favourably against League Two players in the shape of Alverton and Ironside respectively but Alverton could show some resistance against the Season One Champion. Of the other Premier League players, TightEnd and Longy received byes to the 2nd round whilst Tal faces a potential banana skin in the form of sharplea.

Other standout ties see lower leaguers AndrewT and dino 1980 do battle with the winner looking like a tough player for anyone to take on, whilst the winner of the sweet potata! and stribling tie will fancy their chances of a good cup run.

First Round

Sheriff Fatman v. pleno1
AndrewT 1-4 dino1980
maldini32 v. Rubbish2407
craigbetts v. Ironside

3. From which club did Arsenal sign Robin Van Persie?

The WarBwastard League Cup
First Round
Tal v. sharplea

1. Name the 3 German clubs who took part in last season's Champions League Group Stage?

Tal 1 - 1 sharplea

2. Name the 2 players to have won the Premier League Golden Boot whilst playing for Newcastle?

Tal 2 - 2 sharplea

3. From which club did Arsenal sign Robin Van Persie?

Tal 3 - 3 sharplea

4. Manchester City are reknowned for their large transfer spending, but they received a reported £21m, a club record for an outgoing transfer, for a player in 2005. Who was that
player?

Tal 4 - 4 sharplea

5. What current Premier League player is this celebrating winning the Bundesliga?

Tal 5 - 4 sharplea

A great tie where sharplea battled well with Premier League Tal but in the end Tal was able to do enough to make it through to the 2nd round. He was made to work hard though, congratulations on getting all 5 correct. Incidently, sharplea got the number of clean sheets spot on.

1. Name the 3 German clubs who took part in last season's Champions League Group Stage?

horseplayer 1 - 1 Alverton

2. Name the 2 players to have won the Premier League Golden Boot whilst playing for Newcastle?

horseplayer 2 - 2 Alverton

horseplayer 4 - 3 Alverton

5. What current Premier League player is this celebrating winning the Bundesliga?

horseplayer 5 - 4 Alverton

A spirited performance from League 2 Alverton as he scores 4 out of 5 but horseplayer's Premier League class shines through as he scores maximum points to progress to the next round.

Waz 1892 3 - 3 superwomble

Tie-Break: How many clean sheets did Joe Hart keep in the Premier League last season?

Waz1892 3 - 3(TB) superwomble

The best tie of the round thus far as superwomble progresses after winning on a tie-break. Waz1892 led twice but failed to identify the player in question 5 and superwomble was able to take it into a tie-break where he sneaked the victory.

First Round
sweet potata! v. stribling

1. Name the 3 German clubs who took part in last season's Champions League Group Stage?

sweet potata! 1 - 0 stribling

2. Name the 2 players to have won the Premier League Golden Boot whilst playing for Newcastle?

sweet potata! 1 - 1 stribling

3. From which club did Arsenal sign Robin Van Persie?

sweet potata! 2 - 2 stribling

4. Manchester City are reknowned for their large transfer spending, but they received a reported £21m, a club record for an outgoing transfer, for a player in 2005. Who was that

sweet potata! 2 - 2 stribling

5. What current Premier League player is this celebrating winning the Bundesliga?

sweet potata! 3 - 2 stribling

Not the highest scoring match of the round but it was end to end and eventually sweet potata! did just enough to squeeze through to the 2nd round. The picture question is proving tricky and costs another player their place in the next round.
