Rumoured to be Jovan Belcher and that he killed his girlfriend earlier in the day. Then shot himself in front of coaches/players.
Very sad and messed up.

The NFL are still advising Carolina to plan for the game to be played @KC tomorrow, but if he shot himself in front of players and coaches I can't imagine that they're going to be in any fit state to want to play tomorrow.
Shocking, and tragic, developments. The reports say he had a 3-month old child who's now become an orphan in the most horrendous way imaginable.

Horrendous stuff. If they play the game now the NFL will be showing in the worst possible way they are only interested in money. I would have cancelled all the games.

Completely agree with this.

Oh and if they do make them play the game then Carolina at anything up to -7 will be the best bet you are likely to see in an NFL game for a long time. Bit sick to be mentioning it but it is true.

Disagree - things like this can negatively the opponents more (who will feel that by going for it 100% they feel a bit like they're shooting Bambi's mother) and can inspire the team affected to heroic deeds.

I would agree if he had just died but this guy shot his girlfriend first. They are not going to be "honouring" his memory or trying to win for him. Plus he did it in front of the coach and GM. How can they possibly be mentally prewpared for the game in the sport which requires more coaching prep than any other? Do we really think Romeo Crennel is poring over his playbook right now 7 hours after one of his players blew his brains out in front of him?

The Chiefs have confirmed that they're going to play the fixture at it's scheduled time, which I'm amazed by, but it appears to be their ultimate choice that's driving this.
I think it could have as much of an adverse impact on the Carolina players, as it can the Chiefs. Given that there's nothing really at stake in the game, from a play-off perspective, this could end up looking like a pre-season game between two teams who'd rather be somewhere else.

Bet on overs, on the basis that defences aren't going to be playing too rough?

I dunno, just alot of handing off to running backs and no big plays would have been my guess.
Under if I was forced.

Had a big bet on San Diego +2 tomorrow. Cincy aren't really for me, despite their recent wins. Think they are being overrated in some quarters and I'd go as far as saying I'd still make San Diego favourites in this match. As bad as the Chargers have been recently, they are still The Chargers and they should have beaten Baltimore last week (let them get there on 4th & 29 with the game on the line)
Whilst they have proved solid in their own backyard Cincy have only played one away game since a 10 point week 6 loss to the Browns, which was an easy victory but they were playing the hapless 1 & 10 Chiefs, its a long trip to San Diego, got no qualms in taking them on.
Warning: I hate Cincy and Andy Dalton and his boring name
