Look in the 2 plus 2 travel section mate. There are a group of lads that have house in Cebu that sometimes rent out rooms. You would have fun in Cebu I think.

Ok mate, thought u meant recommend a place to go not to stay.

I looked into a bunch of places around resorts world but they were mostly pricey so stayed elsewhere in Manila, no idea about rental houses/apartments.

I could recommend somewhere I stayed in makati, but it's probs too far away to be taxiing back and forth to resorts world every day.

www.asiarooms.com

you can get a hotel/apartment from £15 a night

Failing that if you just wander around Manila you will find plenty rooms/apartments to rent much better if you can find a 'filipino friend' to negotiate a price for you as if you deal direct you WILL pay over the odds unless you get lucky.

I will ask Roxanne later if any of her ex colleagues are working at Resort World

Around that area they are either expensive or a shithole Graham, I did look pretty hard when I went. The area ain't great either, I think walking around with bags and stuff is a pretty bad idea tbh.....

I stayed here but it's probs 30 mins from resorts world in a taxi, decent enough place though for the money.

Pasay is known as a rough area agree completely although have to say never encountered any problems myself there although I only really go there to get the bus home. In my experience ANY taxi ride in Manila only ever costs me 500php (overcharged) which is approx £7.50 at today's rate

Yeah, I'm more thinking his travel time to and from resorts world every day, rather than the cost, which as you know can be a pain in Manila traffic.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is either pay more for a hotel in the resorts world area, or stay further away and accept longer journeys to the venue every day. That is what I would do anyway, not saying its right or wrong obv.

Think the rembrant hotel was the one I considered at resorts world, but it didn't look good value for money to me......

I'm living in the Philippines at the moment. You should be able to find a studio condo in Makati for a month for about php30k.

As Woodsey has said Manila traffic is horrific. However during the night from say 8pm to 6am in the morning the roads are deserted and a taxi from RW to Makati takes less than 10mins.

If your just coming out for a month I would suggest getting here and then deciding what to do. Manila is an awesome but crazy city. Explore it and find which part suits you best. If your there to grind the live poker then your going to want to be closer to RW. If your looking to grind online and be near nice bars then your going to want a place nearer to Greenbelt in Makati.

I think i'm gonna be hitting a few of the sides at the APT if you wanna grab a beer lmk.
