Mentioned in the TfT thread last night that Julian Speroni is probably my favourite ever player. Also enjoyed Caniggia's cameo at Dundee. So many heros for me at Dundee growing up. Sara, Caballero, Nemsadze, Beto, Artero......
Turns out Kinkladze was only the 2nd best Georgian. Step forward Georgi Nemsadze...

EDIT: No idea what is wrong with the link, nvm.
that was a decent side

Underachieved. Still brought some excitement to the club, and although that period almost killed the club financially I wouldn't swap it for anything. Loved taking my younger brother to watch the games.

It was a crappy October night, and a crappy League Cup draw
I rushed to Cleethorpes, always a sod of a trip
I sat in the away end, the wind whipping off the sea to my right
I saw the best Leicester goal I ever saw live, from a tremendous player

i was lucky enough to see him three times "live" in japan playing towards the end (were he now manages)
you quite often hear the phrase a player is playing above his league never has this been the case more. One thing that was apparent was that he never berated or shouted at lesser players infact ingame he often had time to coach them on the pitch
not surprised he is now a manager
if he was about these days he would be a world star no doubt

First main memories are from 1986. Ian Rush in the cup final then Lineker in then WC
Remember Liverpool doing Forest 5-0 in the league a few days after a cup semi against them.
Forest couldn't get near Liverpool and the Forest keeper had a great game, let in five but saved shedloads

I saw Pele play live.
It was just before his first retirement.
Carlos Alberto, Clodoaldo and Joel had also been on the 1970 Brazil team.
One thing about games in those days - no expense was spared to ensure the crowd had easy access to refreshments.

If you can get past the fact that it's presented by Mark and Lard then Match of the 90s is a good watch, link below is for the 89-90 episode. Entire series is on youtube uploaded by the same guy iirc.
Growing up I was a Liverpool fan. I played left-wing as did John Barnes (my fav player) however I also used to pretend to be Kevin Sheedy in the playground. Cracking left foot.

For me, it's the Crazy Gang - Wimbledon FC - Fash, Vinny, Wise, Beasant, Sanch. Storming from non-league up to the very top then beating the mighty Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup Final to stop them doing the Double. Those were the days...
Now we're getting stuffed by the likes of Burton Albion.

I was lucky enough to have a season ticket for the end of Wrighty and through the Bergkamp years but those early trips with my Dad to see Rocky were amazing. My playground hero.
