Got to say it's a genius move by Davis Love sending Tiger out last.

Likelihood is his match won't mean anything, but if Europe manage a fightback he's relying on Tiger's bottle and nerve bringing the USA through.

Completely agree with this.

Would be lovely to see a sweat but you look at Molinari, Lawrie and Hanson and it's like Bopara coming into bat.

Anybody think Webb Simpson is a good bet here vs Poulter at 6/4? It goes without saying Simpson is the more talented player player, he seems close to the top of his game (carrying Bubba on the whole). He hits it so much further than Poults (who is overbet by the patriotic types), is really well suited by the course and putts so well he might just blow him away before Poulter gets a chance to show his heart and determination. I made it basically an even game (given how Poulter raises his game in the RC), 6/4 looks big.

Absolutely agree.

Got to agree too

Against that.....

Ian Poulter's Ryder Cup record in singles. Played 3, won 3. Margins - 3&2, 3&2, 5&4.

I did prices for the firm i am working for last night.  I thought about 4/5 was a fair price for Poulter dnb so yeah probably a touch of value.  On another note we were up with prices.  No other firm had anything for at least 90 minutes yet we didn't take a single bet until other firms came up and then the arbers came out to play.

If you're asking whether I think Simpson will win, I really believe Poulter isn't going to take his foot off the gas. He looks so focused on the green.

If you're asking whether Simpson is value at 6/4, that's probably a different answer.

Fair bit of chat out there about the crowd. A few stories of coughing on the Europeans' backswing, unfavourable comments and, perhaps worst of all, chants about Seve.

It would be naïve to suggest that this were unique to the Yanks. I'm sure the odd, lubricated gentleman in blue would make similarly unpleasant gestures in the home Ryder Cups.

I've always been one who doesn't like cheering/celebrating when a villain misses or messes up, particularly in individual sports. It's different IMO in football when a player rounds the keeper and puts it wide against your team and the player often turns round to his teammates and moves on. When Poulter chipped straight into the bunker yesterday, the reaction of the crowd was appalling. It was a man on his own, ten feet from 100 people celebrating, jeering and mocking his moment of weakness.

I don't think I'll ever get used to that, really.

Not heard any of that and i've railed nearly every hole so far if it did happen it would be 15th-18th and not heard it there. It was Europe with the sky writing yesterday that set the tone, my fave was probably 'has anyone seen tiger?'

I'm pleased to hear that, Flushy.

Sky Sports News man did a report today, saying that he has spoken to "people inside the locker room and people close to the locker room" and that they are pretty unhappy about the comments (then listing the examples above).

There is always an idiot, I suppose.

I could say something horrifically stereotypical like "Those Americans have never grasped good banter" and mention the WSOP but I'm not that kind of person Smiley

I actually love the cheering when someone fucks up, it's a team event. When someone misses a penalty you cheer. This is not a normal event it's only a big event becuase the fans love it so much. If you take away the team aspect then the fans won't enjoy it as much and the event would diminish.
