Bristol won't affect numbers at Blackpool in any way.

See the problem with that sentence is it means the rest of your post carries no credibility
Why does saying that Bristol won't affect the numbers in Blackpool make my post non credible. Blackpool will be 95% full of players from the NW and Ireland. That's just a fact. Can't see anybody from here making the journey to Bristol. I don't have anything against Bristol or the UKIPT. Hope they have a great tournament.

Fab to have unexplained derisory comments sent to me on my first day here, especially from a "hero" member. Thanks for your encouragement and positive input.

the reason your post lacks creditabilty is players like myself and royal flush and many others would travel hours to get to blackpool to play in there fesitvals infact when i used to travel a large number of the players came from birmingham luton and the south of england these players will travel to bristol for the ukipt espically with the stars gtd

People travel to poker events. They're not just made up of locals. Most people will choose Bristol over Blackpool. Think it's annoying there's a clash but again stars have put a gte on their tourney whereas Blackpool haven't. Only saving grace got Blackpool might be those who bust Bristol may travel to play both

Obviously theres a crossover between players based anywhere in the UK that play £500-£1000 tournaments. So if there are 2 options in this range anywhere in the UK they will obviously have an affect on the numbers attending each. The player pool just isnt big enough to sustain multiple tournaments at the 1k level in different locations on the same day

I am a mod.

Does that help you understand the levels of fairness and empathy in this forum?

I don't get why people would definitely choose Bristol over Blackpool.  Stars puts a guarantee on, but they charge a higher percentage in rake.  Blackpool has also been close to the most popular of the GUKPT legs, and I know a few people who say it is their favourite.  The numbers are bound to be affected for both obviously.

I won't be going to either, the journey is too far to both.

blackpool is so dire these days but the GUKPT is worthwhile - slight doubt it will have as many runners this year with the Bristol event

Think it will effect numbers ESP with stars putting a gte on their comp and this comp having no gte

Maybe not, but the whole tour has £200k added, which I'm sure the UKIPT doesn't

I'd be happy to wager a high amount of £'s Blackpools numbers will be down from 2011, however I still think it'll be a great tournament, it's a great place to play poker up there.

UK players are pretty value savvy don't forget, £700 comp £250,000 gte...
