Blinds 5k/10k

My stack 247,000.

This is the first hand of day three. The BB is not at the table yet, so we have one less player to get through.

We are in seat 9 and blinds are at seat 3 & 4.

It is passed round to me and we only have to get through 3 players and we see A2 what are we doing.

Seat 1 stack (350-400)
Seat 2 stack (220)
Seat 3 stack (600+)

minr/ fold.

We have 24 Bb's a reasonable hand for late position and people in these things just dont take off because there is the BB missing.

I have fought very hard for dead Bb pots in the past, only to find 'they' have a hand almost all of the time.

Just min/fold or open fold if you think you are likely to get resistance from players behind you

raise / fold...

also being the first hand of the day, am pretty sure people are less likely to mess with you.

If we peel the 2 first we should have already folded and if we peel the A first we should already have raised. Shouldnt have seen the A2 in its entirety.

As played raise now.

We saw the 2 first and I was tempted not to bother seeing the other card, but we did.

I raise to 24k.

Seat 1: Fold
Seat 2: Call (wtf?)
Seat 3: Puts me all in.

I didn't dwell on it, just folded. It did however set me up badly for the day, which was disappointing.

I believe you played this hand very well.

I know what you mean, these hands tend to have a momentum affect on your tournament, the difference between a few of these spots getting through and none of them getting through is paramount to success in tournaments, and that's something out of your control completely.

think its a pretty horrilble open tbh, esp live off this stack size, especially for a min. you will get peeled a tonne by the blinds, rarely flop high/any equity, stuggle to flop deceptive hands meh, fold.

dont think min fold is terrible, if u think theres a reasonable chance it will get through.

but w so much limping/calling occurring live i think its a fold pre for me off that stack size.

I think the BB won't peel too often Alex
