My point of view is this. If you can't walk up to someone and insult them face to face, don't bother doing it on the internet.

The reason a lot of older players gave up the game was that they found most of the younger players boring in the extreme. In essence they hadn't lived and had little to offer in the way of parlegation.

It just so happens that far more younger players have come and gone than older players. They burnt themselves out four betting each other to death.

Now, there are some fantastic young poker players, but they have the good sense to get it quietly. These players I respect.

I have found that the most vociferous on this site are the most fragile, they are very good at dishing it out but don't like it up em.

I expect the be scrubbed off quite a few Xmas card lists, but with the current price of postage that's probably not a bad thing for any of us.

To the moderator. Once you removed the heart of the matter, the whole ethos was lost. You need to man up and get a little jiggy, if people want to talk crap on facebook or twitter - it's there for the world to see.
Fancy there might be a bit of clique on this site. You're denying your followers the chance make up their own minds.

Just went through the whole facebook thread and that offensive remark is still on there. I don't blame you for not wanting anything to do with it.

The crux of the matter is that Trigg is still mine host to that offensive remark even now. If he had a shred of decency, he would apologise to the person the remark is aimed at and take down the offensive remark. But don't hold your breath on that count.

Flushy seems to have Trigg's measure.

I would be of no help to Trigg - but there are plenty of people in the phone book who would be. The delusions of grandeur are part of the illness. The other side of the coin is deep depression.

My brand of therapy specialises in tough love (Benny Hill double-entendre merchants - save it for someone else.) This guy is too fragile for that.

As for Trigg's assertion that I'm on the way out - I would say to him that the even the dying lion holds the rat in contempt.

You came you saw and you conquered. You the Wizard made them all run away, and then after playing day and night for goodness knows how long you had a win or two - and kerching and kapow you found a voice.

Then you make the brilliant mistake that all ego trippers make of thinking that everybody else thinks like you. You take a group of people, unknown to you, and assume that they were too lazy to change their ways to compete with you. I could name dozens of these players who would willingly pay not to sit at a table with a bore of your calibre, myself included.

People have been going broke playing poker since the day it was invented. It has nothing to do with you or the wonder of your play. When the next wave of lemmings come along in a couple of years, you will be the dinosaur;but that wouldn't have occurred to you. And when the onslaught of lemmings from the near and far east hone in on you, your wizadry will be better employed playing quiddich.

There's a very strong rumour that there is a guy in Semipalatinsk  who is on the verge of completing a piece of software that plays a thousand poker games at once, showing a consistent profit. Don't rule out working for McDonalds in the long run.

I am keeping this light because I know your state of mind far better than you do. But I don't feel bad about the ten grand cheque - the charity I designate is Help the Aged, you would only have spunked this money up anyway. This will give you a chance to put your money where your mouth is.

I used to take a full page advertisement in the Sporting Life, endorsed by Mark Winstanley, who used to write a week end column in the paper at the time called "Beat the Book" which was in direct opposition to Pricewise in the Racing Post.

Mark's endorsement, of "Sidney Harris is the only judge I listen to." is in context and was repeated whenever my advertisement ran, which was three or four times a week. The ads were either half or full page broadsheet.

It is no secret that I had a long standing friendship with Mark and that we would discuss various form issues on a daily basis.

I think writing out this cheque is going to be the catalyst for you. This is where your life is going to change for the better. I think it's important for your esteem that you do this, it will show you are a man of your word.

This was a reply to a post Trigg made around 7am this morning betting £10,000 that he would give to charity and calling me a liar on something that could easily be substantiated. I don't know if it was Trigg or a moderator that removed the post - If it was Trigg that removed it after thinking that his money is worth more than his word - so be it.

You shouldn't really treat old people differently to anybody else. That's why I think it's ok to hustle old people at dominoes just like you would hustle anybody else. But when I am old I will make sure I have some hustling moves of my own so if any young gun tries to come hustling me at dominoes I will be ready to stick it up em.

Hope it wasn't Trigg that removed it and the bet still stands. With the price of fuel going up this winter - The money will be far better used in the hands of Help the Aged than Trigg ferrying it back to the bookmakers.
