Sighhhh...

Blinds 75/150, UTG raises to 400, HJ (decent online guy) 3bets to 1050, we have KK in the CO and flat, button cold 4 bets to 3550 (active foreign guy), folds round to 3bettor who goes all in for 18k, we sigh call, button then tanks for a few mins and folds JJ face up.. 3bettor obv has AA and holds (J high board) so we are left with ~8k.. At least cold 4bettor didn't call with JJ..

Unfortunately we have just bust... 4 limps, we look down A9 in the sb and make it up, BB checks, we get it all in vs K6ss and j10cc on 6s8c9s, turn river is .. Slightly annoyed but considering a re-entry if I can within the next hour and a half or so (will not re-enter if the blinds pass 200/400.

Looking to sell 60% of a re-entry @ 1.15. Can only take bank xfer and will need to be sent tonight! (Obviously people who brought %s of the initial buy in have 1st refusal).

Unlucky Tom.

I would actually have taken my share of the 2nd bullet if I had been Online last evening, but I was working, so I was not able to. I run good!

To say I would have been very pissed off if you had won with the second bullet would be an understatement.

You should have mentioned the possibility of having another shot in the OP and offered the shareholders a chance to buy into both stakes.

Apologies for the 'mistake', as mentioned in my OP I'm completely new to selling pieces and therefore didn't completely grasp the etiquette. I had no intentions of re-entering at any point previous to my busting yesterday as i simply couldn't justify spending that amount of money on a single tournament, however my friend offered putting up my share of the money (40% of £430) on a 50/50 deal - and this was totally out of the blue. I was unable to play the following day and it seemed too good of a deal to pass up at the time - based on my experience of the tournament that day (being extremely soft). Although i know it's not a sufficient period of time to offer another shot - i did post on here about purchasing %'s of my re-entry and left it for around 50 minutes or so before i did re-enter (it would have been longer but the blinds were going up and my friend wouldn't put the money up if i re-entered after this level), then was willing to give another 30 minutes whilst my 2nd stack was in play - and even offered to refund if people booked %'s within 30 minutes and i busted during this period - (myself and my friend who put the money up both agreed that we would give up our personal %'s if was required before we made the deal between ourselves). I also had a lengthy discussion with another friend of mine (Callum Morgan - BornToBubble on blonde) about the situation and we both figured it was OK for me to do what i did. I understand that people who brought %'s of the original entry would have been annoyed if i would have won / made a decent run, and i know it wouldn't have been the same but i would have definitely offered some sort of token gesture to all.

Again i apologize for both my early busting and misunderstanding of the etiquette of selling pieces, it was totally my fault and i will definitely learn for next time. I hope you don't hold my mistake against me in future. (For the next event i sell i will offer the people who brought pieces of the original entry first reserve on my action and even if is being charged - will sell at 0 markup. If i don't sell for an event before the time i play a £430 - £1k+ buyin (excluding the event itself of course) i will free-roll each person 20% of the action they purchased in this thread (i.e. if you purchased 10% of GPS Sheffield i will give you a 2% freeroll of my action) Smiley. Sorry about the misunderstanding!!

50 minutes was nowhere near enough.

At the very least you should have pmed me/other investors.

Frankly, I think you should have turned down the offer, no matter how good it was.

You can surely see the opportunity for a player to scam backers in this spot?

You are working with other people's money and you need to be completely clear and up front in your transactions/dealings.

Her's a mythical example:

Player gets backed for a tournament, playing for 25%.

When he gets to the venue a mate offers him that if he busts he'll pay for his reentry and the player will get 40% off his action.

Do you think the player will put 100% effort in for his first bullet?

No, he'll punt like crazy to try and get a big stack and play properly when he's got 40% off his action.

An even more unscrupulous player might take the second offer, pocket the investors money and tip the bloke running the tournament a pony to mark him down as having a reentry when he actually only had an original entry.

The more I think about this, the worse it is.

BTW I am not accusing you of doing either of those things, I think you have just not given the situation enough thought.

There is a tournament every week, your long term reputation is worth far more than your ev in one event.

You should have turned down the offer.

Why would you invest in someone you thought was capable of such tricks?
