Newbury Racecourse's Best Dressed Gent. And What?

Hi,

I am Ed Gascoigne - a Sheffield Wednesday supporting, loud trouser-wearing, sports betting analyst.

I am posting here to sell 50% of my action for a small package (2 tournaments totalling 1650Eur) I intend to play in Prague between 10th-14th December

This is my third time posting for staking (first instance here http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=58856.0 and second instance here http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=59398.0), though I am increasingly active in taking small pieces of others on these boards. I am a regular Blonde contributor, and indeed recently ran a new style Quiz which was available here: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=59365.0

Though I am a long way from being a full-time grinder I like to think I have a solid understanding of the game. I read a decent amount around poker and it feels to me like large parts of the game require a skillset which is reasonably transferable from my everyday work. I play, I would estimate, about 30-40 times a year, generally £1-2/£1-3 cash though also a handful of decent size comps and the odd bowl with friends. Yesterday I sat in the £2-£5 at the Vic (line-up looked reasonable), only for it quickly to ascend to £2-£5(-£10) and then be changed into a £5-£10(-£25) game, which was a little on the large side and I departed a small winner.

I'm better on the road than at home (lolsamplesize).... In August Father Gascoigne and I voyaged to Deauville to defend our nation's honour and re-stamp Britain's authority over ze French swines, culminating in a victory in a 300Eur Side-Event for 5050Eur.

Where once upon a time I probably suffered from a degree of "ants-in-the-pants" syndrome and often got a tad too adventurous (high variance lines/blow-ups deep in a DTD500 and the UKIPT spring to mind), I am increasingly calm/zen at the table, owing largely to the fact I now live in a cottage with my lovely girlfriend where we have a garden of pansies, a wood-burning stove and many leather bound books in an office that smells of rich mahogany. Last comp I played was the November 500 at DTD where I lost a fair bit early with   on   two hearts where I b/c flop and ck/cl turn and river only to be shown     before grinding my way through until a level or so from the end of the day. This kind of patience/understanding of how to play/grind in these slower-structured comps is coming with maturity/experience and I play with a greatly improved mental attitude to how I did some time ago.

There is no mark-up on the package as I have no means of proving I'm a winning player. I don't play online, and indeed as aforementioned play no great volume live. Rather I feel my strengths come from a solid mathematical grasp of the game, an increasing degree of human intuition, and a hunger to succeed.

The two tournaments I intend to play are:

11 Dec - King's Casino 500(+50)Eur   NLH 1 day event
12 Dec - GSOP Main    1000(+100)Eur NLH 4-day event

The total outlay on the package is therefore 1650Eur.

Today's rate on xe.com is 1.25, which will be the rate at which you buy your stake. Any returns will be paid out based on the % term of the £s I receive after converting back. Though I am not overly experienced in these manners myself I know a number of people travelling to Prague who are who should hopefully ensure that in the event of a bink conversion is done as efficiently as possible.

1650Eur = £1320

5% = £66
10% = £132
etc.

Flame away / Good luck us.

The Team

FUN4FRASER 20% (PAID)
cambridgealex 5% (PAID)
leatherman 5% (PAID)
skolsuper 10% (PAID)
Doobs 10% (PAID)
Sam Mac 5% (Euros in Prague)

Chipped down to 6.5k at first break in 500, about to go 150/300 a25.

Two hands of note....

Folded to my SB at 50/100 I raise to 300 with AA, bb (young/French/dressed hilariously) peels.

944ddh

I bet, he raises, I call for deception.

Turn

I ck call half pot.

River 4.

Ck ck, 96cc is good.

Then at 100/200...chap I played with last night (middle-aged, Czech, seemed reasonable if a little cautious perhaps) limps utg, fish limps utg2, I iso KQdd to 825 in the hj.

Utg limp-raises to 2.3k, but it feels like he's doing it cos I have iso'd. He's left himself exactly 8k back in his big denom chips. Fish folds, I tank jam, he snaps with aces, marv. Brought it on myself really, don't know if he levelled me or I levelled myself.

Right, let's gogogogogo!!
