I'm looking for a machine from my youth in order to try and buy/hire it. I found the one pictured below on Brighton Pier, but it isn't the one I remember. Unless my memories are massively distorted it had 8 horses rather than 5. I think they went as follows:

Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White, Purple, Orange, Pink (maybe slightly wrong order)

If someone knows the location of one of these babies then please let me know!

There's definitely one (if not two) 8-laners in the Bournemouth Pier arcade.  Not that I would ever indulge...  Not sure if that helps!

Lol. I thought you may have meant the one with about 20 seats where you roll the balls up the shoot and the horse moved the corresponding number to which the ball drops in. Now that would be fun to hire. The camel version is my fav but can't post a pic because my photobuket ain't working

Cheers Simon, will investigate further. Got a mate getting married this year and would be awesome to somehow get one for his reception.

Try a company called Arcade Warehouse - have used for a similar hire in the past.
Sorry can't find website as Arcade Games seems to be a blocked search at work.

Was on a cricket tour in Malta a few years ago, I visited the lovely Dragonara Casino in St Julians for a little poker and they had this electronic circular version where you permed forecasts and tri-casts on the 8 runners. These were only cent bets and you could only get about 100 on as you had to tap the button for each bet, each perm had a button so there was lots of random button smacking. I really really liked this game, as did the umpteen Chinese friends who you had to fight to get a seat.

All the others mentioned in this thread are class as well.
