I think Forest have underachieved this year.  I don't think it's an unreasonable sacking given he had had funds to bring in a fair few players.

They were awful against us (Watford) last week despite looking good on paper.

There were several performances like the Watford one.  Not a shock in some ways, just the timing after a good win makes it look bad.

Mcleish favourite now.....oh dear.

My opinion is that anyone decent already has a job apart from 1 manager, and that obviously isn't going to happen.

What about Mark Hughes or Alan Curbishley?

Or Big Ron....

Could be worse, Hughes or Keano.

Hope he takes us up or the whole thing will be a farce of epic proportions.

Very odd, Simon, isn't it?

Statistically the worst Aston Villa manager ever, took Birmingham down

Can't see Billy Sharp ampongst others wanting to play for him....

So a manager that has achieved a 29% win rate over 5 years as a top flight manager is going to get Nottingham Forest Promotion

Horrible horrible appointment. He might manage some short term success but it's a certainty when he leaves Firest will be in a poorer state than they are now.

Just lol

I was going to post this then decided to scroll up. Billy sharp has already tweeted his displeasure. Its a horrific appointment, I can only pray SOD gets another chance because if not I really believe Britain will miss out on a fantastic manager who will have been utterly wasted. I have no doubt Doncaster would be 5x likelier to be in the Championship if he had stayed in charge. His brand of football was truly extraordinary at Doncaster, the Telegraph even described us as the Arsenal of the North, a quote a will never ever forget. I'd absolutely love to see what he could do with a fantastic footballing side, if he got given the players he would damn well develop a Barcelona esque side.

In b4 well typed drunken hyperbole.
