Do you think the time was right to remove Keith Hill Sheriff?  Or do you think he was simply doing as well as can be expected with resources?  What an odd league that a team that can win 5-0 the road finds itself bottom a few months later.

Do you think the time was right to remove Keith Hill Sheriff?  Or do you think he was simply doing as well as can be expected with resources?  What an odd league that a team that can win 5-0 the road finds itself bottom a few months later.

I've been one of the dwindling numbers of supporters backing him in recent weeks but seeing him in the dugout yesterday changed my mind by half-time.  He was a different person, rooted to his seat instead of managing from the technical area as he'd normally do (by all accounts he did the same on Boxing Day too).  It seemed to me like he'd given up, which meant the time had come.

I'll be happy if we could attract SOD or Owen Coyle, but have reservations that either will come as any manager at present has to work under a commercially inept General Manager and an owner who's too ill to attend games and is trying to sell the club.  Gut feel tells me we're doomed to the drop this time, no matter who is in charge, but the underlying cause of that goes back to Mark Robins' departure over a further reduction in budgets.  Since then, it's always been a matter of when, not if, and the dwindling crowds over that time are a symbol of what the fanbase in general thought of this.

Worrying times, as League One will be a sod for us to get back out of anytime soon.

Yep - League 1 is such a hard league to play in.  I remember some of the games when we were down there 10 years back - really attritional stuff.

Especially as he declared his 'need for time' as the reason for not taking our offer.

Looks pretty classless as a result.

Meh, better to say he needs time than "you're not good/big enough for me" which was probably his real reason.

Either way, joining a club who are below us in the league, attract similar crowds to us and are massively in debt looks a very odd step after a further week.  Would have thought the Blackpool job had more potential for him, but presumably this is solely a financial decision on his part.

No problem with him going elsewhere.  I just wish he'd been honest about things as far as we were concerned.

Bristol City have always felt to me like a club which could achieve something with their catchment area.  Nobody has ever come close though - not sure they have ever featured in the Champ playoffs?  Maybe O'Driscoll can unlock their potential, although their current squad looks in need of a total overhaul.

O'Driscoll working with some of the talented players at Bloomfield Road would have been dreamy.

Friend of mine is a season ticket holder at Blackpool and I don't think he's too impressed with their board/owner

'When O'Driscoll knocks you back to go to the club bottom of the league and in a right financial mess you know you got problems'

On Peter Houston's possible appointment at Blackpool.

'Appointment perfect for Oyston. Compensation probably be small and fans expectations are at an all time low. He will be hoping for us to keep doing shit so he doesn't have to spend a penny and can keep the prem money paying his Dad millions more for the next 2 years'

Billy Davies been having talks with Blackpool, apparently Oyston has made an offer and Davies has until tonight to decide. Hopefully this will turn his head, he'll jog Oyston on and the Blackpool job will go to Thommo!

SOD did turn down Burnley whilst at Doncaster. Something about the training facilities being poor was the rumour at the time. Always made me smile because Doncaster train in a park!
