Barry how could you?! You've brought it all horribly back to me!
I have the first premier league sticker book but it must have cost my poor mom and dad more than it did to get me through Uni. At one point, I needed about 8, including the top half of Peter Ndlovu. I had about 100 spares, including some 8 Pavel Srnicyzks and a dozen Phil Babbs.
I kept trying to convince people that the Phil Babbs were worth more so they were getting a good deal if they swapped one of theirs that I needed for multiple Babbs. They must be worth more...I've got them all!
In the end, mom and dad sent off for the last few and saved themselves any more heartache..."Another Phil Babb, mom!"

One year I was walking home from the shop checking out my new cards and I turned over the world cup, which was number 1 in the book, the rarest, and had that shiney gold material on it.
Greatest feeling in the world, I shall own the playground I thought.
Then a bird did a shit from above which landed right on it. Didnt mess up a single other card or my hands or nothing.

If that were a dream, Freud would have a field day!
That first shiny is right up there in my best childhood memories for sure.

Some great things on this thread, especially the scaffold lol, me and my brothers would spend hours on a Sunday climbing...
Anyway here are a few of mine..
Raleigh burner - Best BMX ever, shared between 3 of us,
With the puncture repair kit obviously as the 1980's was a decade of construction we always seemed to get a nail in on of the tires
The vintage skateboard made even more famous after Back to the Future
And the Amstrad cpc 464, having to load games for 5-7 minutes each time we wanted to play seemed normal..
