Currently live with my girlfiriend and her six year old son, yesterday afternoon his second baby tooth fell out and when he was out of the room the subject of how much mioney we put under his pillow arrises. From what i remember i think he ended up getting a fiver (wtf?) for his first tooth. Her sister ends up hinting that he's going to get a fiver again, is this really the going rate for a tooth these days? Anyways Adam goes to bed and puts his tooth in a little jewellery/ring box under his pillow and falls asleep, downstairs me and his mum discuss how much to give him and eventually settle on 3 pounds (still a lot?). She then goes to swap the money for the tooth, i walk up the stairs and see her rooting under his pillow but can't find anything, all of a sudden he sits up and stairs at me, eyes wide but thankfully he just grunts turns over and falls back asleep. We then find the box witht he tooth in it behind the bed on a table, what is propper tooth fairy etiquette?

1 Take the box with the tooth in it and put the money under his pillow

2 Take the tooth out of the box and leave the money in the box on the table

3 Leave the money in the box but put it back under his pillow

Either way he's a happy boy this morning twittering away LOUDLY to himself at half 7

A fiver?

What?

FIVE POUNDS?

Sorry, the Tooth Fairy ALWAYS gives a sixpenny bit.

We gave our daughter a fiver the first tooth she lost but then it was down to £2 per tooth.  Once though she did leave a note for the fairy asking why she only got £2 when one of her friends got £5.  The Mrs decided to be soppy and write back explaining why and that it is also a bit rude to ask, but perhaps as a one off she'd get £5 if she was good.  Anyway, she did get that £5 on the next one but it's back to £2 for the rest I'm afraid.

Not much been going on this week, still trying to figure out what goals i want to set (i really want them to be acheivable if i push myself). Played my first game of poker of the new year at the pub, five pound rebuy and i played pretty bad. Struggling for funds because my bank card got eaten by a cash machine on new years Sad ended up getting it in after the rebuy period heads up with 66 vs a6, obv no good.

Hosting a cash game tomorrow night (10p/25p), couple of questions would you guys make the minimum sit down £5 or £10, i don't really want a maximum but the game is "supposed" to be quite friendly. Fridge is full of beer, the chips are ready, just need to go out and buy a couple of fold up chairs cheap if possible. Looking forward to playing, can't really afford to play 50/1 in a casino so im hoping to get a regular home game going (maybe every couple of weeks) which would be sweet. Currently got a dilemma though because i want to run tournaments, ive just bought a fold up table that will go on the kitchen table, the other table i own is a weber(?) and doesnt fold up and has two weird "legs" that it slots on to. Because of the angle of the stairs it is too wide to fit up the stairs, the only way to get it in is  through the living room windows wide open and at an angle... this would be fun if it was on the ground floor, unfortuanately we live above a shop lol

Managed to fit in some maths homework with my gf's lad, i have a 1000 piece chip set and wanted to find out if id lost any, so got all the different colours into stacks of ten and then got him counting in tens and writing down down how many of each we had. Then i had to find a decent deck of cards, found two sets of pokerstars cards and got him to arrange them all into suits to see if they were all there. Quite cute i cant remember exactly what he called them but i asked him what the queen of (clubs) was called and he said the queen of broccoli trees lol Finally tought him once we had found all the cards to check the backs of them for any marks and and that if we find a mark we cant use the deck, found one on one card so thats now his deck lol

Lastly on the way home went to get petrol, put £10 in, my car is litterally straight outside where they take payments from outside once it gets to a certain time at night. There was no other car there and nobody in the shop bit, is it lazy of me to point at the service window or should i just ignore that, walk in pay, walk out get in the car and leave lol?

Thanks to a close friend ive got a job interview tomorrow afternoon, wish me luck Smiley

Fun cash game, kinda ruined pokerwise that people would rather play 50 bb stacks than buy in to cover the table. End up winning a buy in, mostlly thanks to my mate (pilf) saying he was going to own me post flop this one hand. i raise jqo, he calls sb, bb calls , flop jq3, i bet 1.50 he makes it 4 out of 15 ish stack i jam and he gambles with 9T. One other hand, two limpers i make it 1.25 on the button with 45o, sb calls, pilf tank calls, one other caller, flop comes A 3 3, checks to me, i check back, turn comes a 2, sb bets 2, pilf calls, i make it 8, sb jams for maybe 10/12 more and pilf tank folds AK. Sb has 45s for a chop Sad

Hopefully bank card arrives tomorrow and i can deposit on stars or 888 and start playing online, still suck at trying to decide what i want to accomplish this year :\

* Loose two stone in weight before 2014 rolls in

* Have sat in a 50/1 cash game in a casino

* Have a four figure score online

* Cash/Final Table  a £75 + buy in 2 day tourny live

Still need some more specific goals mainly for online play but i really don't know if i'll end up playing more cash, sng's or mtt's this year.

In future, when someone makes a comment like "im going to own you postflop.." then check raises.... Jamming it in his eye probably takes away any way he can outplay you.
Probably best to just tank call, tank call etc... Cheesy

Sounds good so far.  I can't believe the cost of teeth, im sure i only had £1 and it wasn't that long ago.

Definitely worth working out what you 'want' from poker???
Money
Glory
Trophies
Fun
Etc and what type of poker you are going to start with, work on and where do you want to get to...?

I agree about tank calling, stacks werent that deep so think check calling or check raising the turn and stacks would be in anyways. Was really crap tho because hes a v good player and was supposed to be bringing 250 bb's and ended up with 100 because of christmas stuff and when he went the game sucked because it was full of short stack nits Sad

I know its best to focus on one type of poker but i really want to play a fair bit of online cash and online mtt's. Will post more on this later

Sorry for the slow start to this blog, my bank cards have now come through so i will depositing/playing online in the next couple of days depending on the outcome a call back for a second job interview tomorrow morning.

This will probably have quite a big effect on what i decide to focus on, if im succesfull then its likely i will concentrate on more cash this year as i simply won't have the time to play tournaments but will have time to fit in cash sessions. If i don't get the job then i will be depositing a small amount (probably on pokerstars) and will aim to build for the next month/two months playing some mtt's but more likely some sit n go's.

Quite a lot depends on tomorrow morning but either way im hoping to get my first online session of the year in tomorrow, going to try get a decent nites sleep tonite so that i don't look too rough tomorrow lol

2nd interview felt like it went well, Crapped myself walking into the interview room when i saw a keyboard, mouse and works telephone on the table. Really thought i was going to have to do some role play but ended up just being a conversation with a guy i'd already met and another manager. I havent had a lot of interviews ... ever so its all pretty new to me but i answered the questions as best and as honestly (a mistake?) as i could. It's a whole different world from my last job where the bosses seemed like they were in a different world and these guys seemed very much down to earth. Was sposed to get a call today so i guess ill have to wait a little longer to find out whether i've got it or not.

Finally deposited tonight for the first time 2013, put 150 dollars on 888 to play cash with. I think that playing cash during the week and trying to fit in sessions when i can is going to better for my lifestyle this year. Recently moved in with my gf and her son so im still sort of getting use to a family household. Don't have as much privacy/time on my own as i used to living with my parents. Besides it fitting into my life better i think its also the aspect of poker i would like to improve upon the most. More specifically i want to get better at NL Holdem Cash starting at 5/10 cents and working my way up through the limits. I'm not going to aim for anything rediculous but if i could be playing 25/50 cents as my regular game by between june and september i'd be very happy and i guess a goal for the year would to try and be playing 50/1 online by the end of the year and also sitting in 50/1 games in casinos. The first aim though is to beat 5/10 cents and just improve my cash game, watch video's and to get used to the swings in cash that u simply don't get as a low stakes sit n go player (or maybe ive just forgotten the dowswings).

So as i said cash is going to be my main priority with probably a couple of tournament schedules on the weekends and also a few live tournys. Played my first online cash session on the laptop, booted up 4 tables of NLH and played for 10 minutes before having to shut them down. Lost 3 - 4 dollars, mainly because of a hand with redic aggressive stats for the short time i was playing and calling him down on an A2x flop with AJ and getting shown A2. Came back to the laptop to play some more holdem but checked the plo lobby out and saw a seat free. End up sat in 3 omaha tables for the next  30 minutes and procede to win about 4 buyins back. I know i should prob still be playing as the games seemed pretty good but gotta be up at 8 to take the kid to school in the morning.

I find omaha a much more addictive cash game than holdem, i guess because it feels like you have a reason to play so many more hands and i'm sure it won't be the only time i play it this year. I've been trying really hard to get the home cash game players to play Omaha for an hour but had no luck. None of them have played it before and they don't have any desire to learn another game, they know holdem (kinda) and like holdem and that is what they wan't to play.

Quick question before i call it a night, how many people use table ninja? how good is it?  For sit n go's i roughly can play 8 and do well, how many more tables is it likely that i would be able to play if i had it?
