I get the feeling that you are in a similar position to where I was last year when I was playing a bit of everything with no real focus on goals or direction. Just cause you lost the A2 hand I dont see why that made you go and open up some PLO games.

PLO is a very addictive game cause as you said you feel that you can see a lot more hands, this being said you can lose a lot more with than mindset also. PLO is so dangerous but its also a quick way of roll building if you get on a crazy fishy table.

I have recently started using TN I had previously only played 6 tables before but I am now comfortably playing 8 with looking to move to 10 in the coming days.

Sorry if I sound a bit negative as its not intended I just think that depending on why you are playing etc you should have some focus and direction on 1 aspect of the game instead of many.

Will update more later as currently on a course but I wouldn't say I stopped playing Holdem last nite because of that hand I just had some house things I needed to do and then when I booted back up I stupidly looked at the Omaha tables and booted some games up.

To clarify I want to focus this year on Nlh, this is the game I want to be better at but for variation I will play some micro stakes tourny's occasionally and especially on a Sunday, I have goals I'm just not sure what's realistic, they need to be achievable and I don't want to set myself up for a fall.

When i started this i had the best intentions to put in some serious volume playing, so far i feel like its been a bit of a waste of time as i haven't managed to put hardly any hours in for various reasons:

* Didn't have bank card for the first week of the year (i could of put money on sites using other methods)

* Family time

*spending time with a mate whos worlds been destryoyed (missus left him)

* Attending a few interviews and then being nervous about whether i'd impressed/would get the job

*Been on my laptop as my computers been whiped and been messing about and tweaking it to try and get it and the office it's in how i want it

Of course not all of those took up loads of time and possibly they all just add to me being scared to play because i don't want to fail. I want to make money and i really want to get better/decent at playing NLH cash and the only way to do that is to put in the hours and sessions.

Year so far -

1 pub tournanent £5 rebuy - lost my buyin

1 Home cash game - won £27

a few online NLH and PLO small sessions - won 81 dollars

NLH stats - 1218 hands all at 10NL, won 47.49, Playing 36/22 which doesn't look great, i guess i need to be raising/reraising  more and obv playing less hands.

Should have my computer room sorted this week at some point, just need to install anti virus and a few other programs (and then all the poker sites and trackers) and it will be ready to go. Will have a few hours most evenings to play but won't be playing late into the nite with work in the morning and i want to make a good impression.

First day back at work, I was made redundant last June. Ive always struggled with crippling shyness so trying to take everything in and meeting new people is not the easiest experience for me.

I agreed to play football after work with some colleagues so we will see how that goes :/

Tbh really want to get home and boot some tables up but I really need help mentally with poker. When I have free time (but limited income) I either lack the motivation to play or I don't play because I'm scared of losing.

Now I don't have the time to play as much I really want to play. I think Cash is definitely the way to go and I'll pat some Holdem hands later although there isn't really any interesting hands yet. I love six max but difinitely need to be flatting and either rr or folding more than I am. Im on 888 so the standard isn't as good as stars, can u get away with flatting in position more with a wider range then re raising and playing much more inflated pots at 10nl? I come from a sit n go background so trying to play through the streets more as opposed to big decisions pre and on the flop

Crazy final table so far, was up to 800k after winning a race with ak v qq to go chipleader then lost some down to 500k, then lose a pot that would have put me to a million with kq v a4s on a k33 two spade flop, down to 2 bigs, now back up to second in chips witgh 5 left, gtd 110 ...guy actually folded for less than a bb when i was down to 2 bb, thank you sir
