Great race, would have loved to seen Purito win, but Costa rode a super smart race.

The race distance & final attack by the climbers blunted the likes of Sagan & Cancellara.

Il Lombardia next...

Great race. Feel sorry for Purito, he's so aggressive yet so often seems to be the nearly man. Tactics played right into Costas hands with the other three messing about with eachother. What happened with the Brits? I know the few interviewed said they werent feeling it but they seemed to give up far too early

Just a really poor show from GB. Rod Ellingworth, the coach, was pretty pissed! I think they wimped out, & Wiggin's lost his nerve again in wet descents. To not get one rider in the final selection is not on.

Yeah Purito is my favourite rider, gutted for him, he was as distraught after, he's normally philosophical about things,...

Brutal, bodies scattered all over...

Still no excuse for GB, same for all.

Awful showing from the Brit team.
Wiggo would still be moaning now if he was nominated team leader and not Froome and the team had fallen apart like that

I'd be interested to know what Sky expect from Wiggins next season. He's still on a multi million Euro salary, but looks so far off being able to ride as a GT contender these days.

Back from a buying road trip, proper old school. A van, some folding, & optimism.  Smiley

Pretty much the season ending now.

Tour of Beijing has started.

Today has a decent one day race, Giro dell'Emilia. I've missed the PP market but was going to get on Franco Pellizotti.

Tomorrow is Paris-Tours.

Greg Van Avermaet, Enrico Gasparotto & Lars Boom look value to me.

Swerved it, he came 4th. Ulissi wins, impressive the past couple of months. I'll be looking to back him in the Ardennes Classics next year.

2014 Tour de France route is announced today, well sort of, it's already been leaked in the French press.

Five summit finishes, including the Hautacam after climbing Tourmalet. A stage in Northern France will have six sections of pave including the famous Forest of Arenberg.

This thread's been languishing on Page 2 for a while, so I've decided to jumpstart it for 2014. Tonji will be along shortly. Here goes...
