Got a couple of hands would like some feedback on.  Don’t really post on PHA, but wanted to get opinions on how I played the hands and what I should have done at each stage.  I’m a recreational player, and tend to just sat into the monthly DTD tourneys and play local games at Genting in Liverpool.  Trying to make tweaks to my game so I can improve this year.  Would like to know how I played hands and what I should have done different.

Hand 1 - 10 mins in, about 4th hand No reads or information on players we have 30k stack.  We have played no hands.

Blinds 50/100

UTG raises to 250, MP call, I call in cut off with     (right/wrong?), blinds come along. So to the flop with 1250 in the pot we see  three clubs

UTG c-bets to 500, MP raises to 1,000…  We should?

Hand 2 – We are on the button with 40k Villain 1 in SB with 22k, (has played a few hands, not hit anything, and not got to showdown, mostly folded on the flop to c-bets) Villain 2 UTG with 40k.  Has played 3 hands, KK once which got to river, AA which he c-bet flop and all others folded and AQ which flopped 2 pair and others folded the turn.  He has showed all hands.

Blinds 50/100

UTG raises 350, I RR on button with   to 1,000.  Both villains call.  3,100 in the middle we see a flop of:-

SB leads for 1,500, UTG calls, we should?

Will wait for some replies before posting next stage…

OK next bit......

Hand 1 we opt to call and see a turn, UTG also comes along for the ride.  Pot now 4,250

Hero 28.7k
Villain 1 UTG - 28.7k
villain 2 MP - 28.7k

Turn card comes a

So board reads...   three clubs

Villain 1 checks, Villain 2 bets 2,250..  WWYD and why?

Hand 2...

ok hand 2 we opt to call.  Is this a mistake?  Was Hero playing like a pussy? Turn comes  pot 7,600

Hero - 39k
Villain 1 SB - 20k
Villain 2 UTG 39k

Board now reads

Villain 1 checks, Villain 2 bets 3,500 Hero?  Again WWYD and why?

Have I played hands passively so far or is this line ok early on?

Hand 1  - call

Hand 2 - villains as described are likely to 4 bet AA KK pre and therefore just proceed presuming you have the best of it atm, and that they could well have smashed the flop pretty hard (2pr etc)

I agree with Alex/Eso. Would probably size a bit smaller like 5550 or the like but its all good really.

I see you've edited the hands. It'd be easier if you posted again so it looks a lot clearer.

I'd flat both as played. Both straights are somewhat difficult to have, and we can easily hit a house. Its a shame you ran so good on flops but so bad on turns Sad

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Final bits to both hands.....

Hand 1....

So there is 4,250 in the pot, we opt to call the 2,250, villain 1 folds.  To the River with 8,750...  River comes

Board  three clubs

Villain 1 checks...  We???

Hand 2....

We opt to call the bet, Villain 1 folds 14,600 in the middle and the river brings in

Board

Villain 2 bets 7k...  We?

Hand 1 -  am now betting 4575 and am V happy about it

Hand 2 - Fold, even if he hasnt got it its ok to be bluffed sometimes and you are still only in level 1 with 34k which well over avg. No need to put the cape on here imo

What Eso advises

quote author=Eso Kral link=topic=60031.msg1700000#msg1700000 date=1358168415]

Hand 2 - Fold, even if he hasnt got it its ok to be bluffed sometimes and you are still only in level 1 with 34k which well over avg. No need to put the cape on here imo
[/quote]

What Eso would do

Jam - he can't have the nut flush and will have to fold

Thanks for replies.

Hand 1.  I've probably missed out on some value here then?  Should have really thought a bit deeper.  With a possible straight on the board, and the way the action went, he would have v bet the river with it, and he couldnt have an over set the way things played out.  Didnt fancy a re-raise spot so I checked back and was show  for flopped 2 pair.  Could maybe have got more in on the flop?  Missed value?

Hand 2.  I took a while to think about it, very wet board, but villain didn't look happy & I called.  Was shown  for another flopped 2 pair.

Main thing I'm trying to figure out with my game was if I had missed value on both hands?  Should I have pushed more to get it in on the flop or turn?  Gave us a decent stack to play with early on, but didnt push on enough.......
