http://www.prosatpoker.co.uk/

Do people like the look of this format for cheap ways to qualify to UK and overseas events?  Any thoughts on their proposition?

I'm keen to try sats this year; this may be a better route.

Just had a look at the website, and it seems to be missing some key info like

Dates of the legs
Number of packages guaranteed
What fees are held back from the prize pool

Seems quite a complicated process when you compare it to standard satellite structures and if you can't play all of the legs then you appear to be at a significant disadvantage.

Still, it's something a bit different in the poker world, so who knows.

Wouldn't play unless PS endorsed it somehow.
Seems a bit underhand paying them through PayPal then playing on home games.

really this is Deans idea. It will be genuine then. Nice young lad who plays at Dtd. He is on my Facebook too.

Story checks out and asked him to come on and give us a run down. Think he may have a blonde account already.

Hi Guys,

ProSatPoker my idea yes, as a regular blonde I didnt want to annoy Tighty by plastering the forum with adverts.

The website is being updated hour by hour, but I am having some DNS, and hosting issues which are slowly being resolved.

The idea came about last year, I did a smaller test league with some regs at my local, who really enjoyed it, and managed to play some DTD events for a fraction of the cost. I really thought this could work on the big scale, so wanted to pursue it.

The reasoning for using the homegames on pokerstars is because it is the only way I could have the format live, without players playing rake to the software and league, I pursued iPoker etc but the costs and hassle was ridiculous.

PayPal allows a secure transaction, and also means there is a trace and a contract for the passing of money, if anything goes wrong everything can be accounted for and easily traced, along with the TCs RE: refunds etc

Untill it is established I cannot be endorsed or backed by the big guys.

I wanted to do it privately, as I feel as a player myself I can cater, adapt and provide services others cant. And also I really do want to give people a better way to satellite to some sick events

I hope you all find it interesting, and like I say any issues or criticisms let me know, I will take it all on board Smiley

What do stars think?

That was going to be my question to.  As the games are on their software, they might consider it a good thing, but as they're running their own satellites in a format that suits their business model - they might not be too happy.

Also, what have Genting said about this?  Surely they want satellites for the GPS to be run on their skin, rather than on PokerStars?

Also, Paypal do not allow gambling transactions, unless they have changed their T's & C's recently.  At best you are in a grey area there.

Stars dont let some of the biggest backers transfer funds without paying significant amounts of rake so i cant see why they would let this slide.

The games are private games, we can allocate the money to whatever we like.

Currently talking about setting up a live format, as the format can bring in more buy ins.
