I am sure someone can help me out here...

I have bought 3 tops from USC/Republic over about a 3 year period, but they all have the same fault.

I have contacted the brand, they have told me to go the store and they have asked for receipt, I don't have one, these was tops I purchased months and years ago, but the faults are exactly the same on them.

Do I have a leg to stand on?

Nope.

It's holes in similar position of the top in all 3 tops.

I wondered if it was the washer, but hasn't happened on anything else.

You'd have more of a leg to stand on if you'd bought trousers Wink

As for your rights, if the items aren't 'fit for purpose', then you'll be able to get a replacement/refund.  If you've had something for a few months and it falls apart and you'd expect it to last 12 months at least, then it has proven not to be fit for purpose.  Getting your money back on a top you bought three years ago will be a little more difficult I'd expect, especially if you've gone on to buy similar ones subsequently.

Had the same problem with a couple of Diesel and All Saints tops. Tiny little hole no more than 2mm square and no obvious reason why it's turned up. Very annoying because it's not like they're cheap.

I thought it could be the washer but then why is it just one tiny hole in each top?

Best thing you can do is throw them away and buy new ones.

No need to thank me.

You only need to produce a receipt to show proof of purchase, so I would recommend that you forget taking this up with USC as the brand have asked you to do

Is the brand exclusive to USC/republic?

In my opinion because of the time that has lapsed since you purchased the items this is a question of 'good will' and nothing legal really comes into it, as it's hard to proof that the clothing has a specific fault that's not caused by you and then to quantify the results of the fault over 'your wear' and what the brand deem to be 'everyday wear'

Contact the company again and insist that you send the clothing into them for review I'm sure they'll replace the items for you.  In the meantime don't buy anything of the same brand again..

I have contacted them and they gave me a blunt reply.

The brand is G-Star, something of which I never wear at all these days, but I still wear the shirts under a jumper/hoody. I contacted G-Star and they said to contact the retail outlet.

It's not ideal that I have had shirts for 3 years, but they are still showing the same fault.
