Haha, great picture!

I've just got a bunch of random stuff thrown together in a playlist on my PC, anything from Uncle Kracker to Metallica.

This is not poker playing related, but the second I stopped listening to music in the background while I was working, my focus and productivity skyrocketed. I personally listen to music while I play because I only play for fun, but if I ever took it seriously again, especially if I was playing lots of tables, I'd advocate not listening to music.

+1

I'd hate to derail this thread so keep the music coming, but there is loads of research that backs up no music >> any music in terms of focus/learning.

Loads of research that shows the reverse as well:  http://www.irishexaminer.com/world/uplifting-music-can-aid-concentration-and-alertness-study-finds-225882.html for example.

I think it's too simplistic to state that music is good or bad for focus.  It depends on the individual, the music, the task in hand, etc.

http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Bristol-man-banned-driving-influence-drum-bass/story-18605524-detail/story.html#axzz2PUJ55laW

hah! A WHITE van man "high on drum and bass" was driving so erratically that police pulled him over thinking he must be under the influence.

I like mixcloud.com for my grind. this podcast is on repeat at the moment. i just like how sets flow and how there's no need to change song every few minutes..

this one from one of my favourite labels. http://www.mixcloud.com/lovesickrecordings/love-sick-podcast-april-2013

genre - up beat chilled bass/dub music.??

Yeah surely it's depending on the task in hand? Does anyone here listen to the same style of music regardless of there position in a tourney?
I ended up listening to classical music when last grinding and being card dead it chilled me out abit, before I was listening to upbeat tempo and I didn't feel rushed.
Last playlist
Smiths
Kasabian
Celo green
Sam Cooke
And knocked out to mr bob Marley Smiley

Does anyone find a artist or song that just don't seem to bring any luck or jinx u?

love this album

The album of car advert songs. Play is up there for me too.

Discovery by Daft Punk I think is my favourite, closely followed by Late Registration by Kanye West, then you can't look much further than 'Are You Experienced' album by Jimi Hendrix for a weird mix of a top 3.

TBH though, I rarely expand my horizons with music and know I am missing out on so much, but what can you do.

Utilising the talents of King Fantastic or Biggie Smalls makes you feel like tha illest balla ever to stack they!!!

I also find that Slipknot runs up a short stack quickly.

I used to love 2pac, Snoop, 50 and the like, but the only trouble was I would just start spraying...

I'm at best ambivalent when grinding to hiphop, I feel great whilst I'm playing, but never seem too happy with my line when I look in the black box after Cheesy
