Hello people! It's Barry (Oneouter.com) I just wanted to drop by and thank you for the kind words, especially the bit about me being a great interviewer Smiley You are too kind!

Without being sycophantic given Channing is in the thread! I really can't thank guys like him enough, all of them, Julian, Phil etc etc. They all have interesting lives and stories and I try and keep Oneouter.com podcasts about interesting stories as much as possible!

I have the young guys on Jungleman12, Alex Fitzgerald, Moorman etc, but also Devilfish, Channing, Hellmuth and that crowd. It's just good to know that some people are getting something from them and it makes me do more Smiley

Anyway, thanks again and I hope to keep churning them out for the foreseeable future Smiley

Cheers

Barry

I bet I could tell you a few stories which don't appear in the 2:47 and won't appear in his book Wink

Haha Keith! One of the best bits was where Neil essentially itemised the cooked breakfast that your mum cooked for you both. Just brilliant!

I'd hate to hear the worst bits then!

(Although my Mum's cooked breakfasts are incred - he better have emphasised this point)

Those big old mushrooms were amazing. Best mushrooms ever...fact.

I think I told it pretty much warts and all. Fuck me it was long enough. I was really careful that it might look like I was saying how great I am and how it's all been easy and wonderful. There have been dark days and I tried to tell it as it happened.

Not sure Barry wanted it to last 44 years though.

The diet really works. When I left hospital the first time I was 9st 3lbs. It was only five months earlier I'd been 17 st 10lbs.

Obviously the acute pancreatitus isn't that much fun but you can't have everything.

Hi Keith, All I remember is the description was so good, that it made me have my 3rd cooked breakfast of the day (I am Scottish after all)

Neil, I wanted it to be longer Smiley Fantastic story and you need the ups and downs to understand your story!

There is a romanticism and nostalgia about these types of stories (particularly with gambling) Whether rightly or wrongly! It was my favourite podcast (although I said that to Barry Greenstein as well) Wink

Oh, I recorded one with Phil Laak the other night and that will be on the site soon! You get a mention Neil! Tongue

For those of you that like up and down stories, mine is decent as well

**SPOILER, no acute pancreatitis in mine!!!**

Cheers

Thanks Barry, I did indeed get the Hellmuth podcast to work. Nice work again. Hellmuth always surprises me when I hear him being interviewed. I get the impression he is actually a nice guy but puts on an act for the cameras. I wonder if Mike the mouth and Tony G are the same and under the unlikable act they project they are actually nice people.  I look forward to listening to the Phil Laak podcast when it is available.  Cheers

Hey Sark,

Thanks again! Yeah I really enjoyed doing the Hellmuth interview myself. It was really nice of him to give me so long, originally it was supposed to be 10 minutes because as we were setting up the skype chat ESPN were doing a segment at his house! But he ran over and gave me 30 mins.

I also got the chance to speak to him in person at last years WSOP, from my personal dealings with him, I only have good things to say about him. He's a big teddy bear really!

Phil Laak one will be on soon, and Matusow is in the works, we've already spoken over the telephone and it's just a case of setting a day and time.

Cheers

I recently listened to these two podcasts and thought they were incredible. The guy interviewing is very good and asks some interesting questions. Neil Channing should write a book, he sure can talk. It is 2 hrs 47 mins of pure gold and great gambling stories. I never really knew much about Julian Thew before listening to the podcast. He talks about his start in poker through to his deal with sky and sounds like a nice bloke.

There are also other podcasts with moorman and devilfish that are worth listening to. I am working my way through them while out running.

Brag: Looks like I've got some decent entertainment for my upcoming trip abroad. Also enjoy the 2+2 ones fairly frequently; they often get some good guests and the presenters are great. Finally had Hellmuth on the other week...

Beat: Part of trip is to going to see a very ill uncle Sad

Variance: Haven't seen my mp3-playing-device for at least a week

Anyone played poker in Montreal or Toronto? Pretty unlikely that I'll have time this trip however...
