This 'same village" business can really stir it up sometimes. In my earlier days in Nottingham - I had to stop going there at one stage because some of my friends became offended when I got involved in a pot with them. I appreciate that it's very diffciult to play against friends - however, there's not much choice if you are trying to play "proper" poker. I recall that one Sunday in a big one - the final consisted of myself and five family members - it was my worst nightmare. In the end, I just asked them all to play the game without any "funny stuff" and good luck to the winner. But I tell you what - couldn't handle that every week!

I thought I saw the person in question there on sunday afternoon, not playing but there to register for the evening comp. I didn't stay so I don't know if that was successful

Adam, you didnt see him on Sunday! He is definately gone.

Mel, i will let you know next time i'm there.  Hope my dad wasnt naughty sat so close to you  Cheesy  I didnt last much after you last night.  Just one of those nights when nothing worked but hey, gotta take the rough with the smooth.
