(i think - haven't used in a long long time)I also play a lot live when I can (upped a lot in recent months) and currently play £1/2 live, building a BR with very good results in the last few months.
I've just blown a chunk of it on a trip to the Galapagos Islands off the west coast of South America and I plan to keep doing this kind of splurging with 'poker-money' as much as I can!I have never played a £1k buy-in tournament before.
I have however played around a dozen in the £500-750 mark and managed a real mix of results (busted in a couple of levels all the way to 11/400+) and many many more <£300
As a predominantly cash game player I play 'deep stacked' a lot and hope to use this to my advantage but both respect and realize my likely disadvantage vs the 'pros' when we get to the <50bb part of the tournament. I have spent a fair amount of time speaking to SNG specialists I'm lucky enough to have as friends to get their 'best advice' and try to learn from them as much as I can.
I know from my previous bigger events these are peppered with some very good poker players (some professional, some not) but expect the majority in this to be satellite entries and recreational players making a stab at a comp outside their usual 'reach'.
I have a DTD500 ticket from this time last year and I will be putting some money toward it myself.
I am going to play the event anyway, but am selling 30% on here @ 1.000000000000000000000001 to just try and 'ease' BR commitments since I'm still building properly.
