Historical sex assault. Single incident. Not connected to Savile.

But still, sad times.

Some of this stuff is getting a bit fishy for me, compensation culture and all that.

Some of this stuff is getting a bit fishy for me, compensation culture and all that.

People emboldened to come forward when they see others in similar situations do the same.

Doesn't seem at all fishy to me, seems like human nature.

Women/children who have been sexually assaulted have often been conditioned to make them think it's somehow their fault.

That's how these fckers have got away with it for so long.

Well I agree with that in part for sure, but I can't help but be a little bit suspicious.

A distant relative was abused as a child.

She is now in her 70s and has only started talking about it in the last few years.

She has kept all that pain bottled up for over 60 years.

Feel sympathy for the victims not those who face questioning. The burden of proof is very difficult to achieve so many more abusers are likely to get away with it than innocent men be prosecuted.

I'm shocked, my parents were friendly with the Tarbucks and used to socialise with them as we were all members of the same golf club in London from the mid to late 1960's onward, Coombe Hill.

I've never heard even a whiff of any rumours of this kind of stuff.

They don't want compensation.  Compensation amounts to fk all anyway.  They only want justice and it takes a while for some to fight their case.  It's not easy to stand up and be questioned...not even when the case is cut and dry.

He's being questioned over one incident rather than serial abuse.

Rather different to Savile, Hall, Glitter etc.

I do think it's unfortunate and a mistake for the police to call all of these cases part of Operation Yewtree, because the public immediately links the cases together.

Raping a child and groping a women's breasts are poles apart but all come under the umbrella of Yewtree.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just saying there will be opportunists there in the mix, what the real % or right v wrong is really hard to know. I feel sympathy for whoever have been wronged, be it the abused or the falsely accused.

I'm just not going to point fingers at all these 'new' cases until something has been proven, and that will probably be hard even if its true.
