I had it when i was 15. Funnily enough (not at the time) i woke up on Christmas Day morning and my parents thought I'd had a stroke and rushed me to the emergency doctors. I was given a 2 week course of some form of steroid and my face was totally back to normal shortly after. From what i remember it really wasn't very pleasant and I totally sympathize - however don't worry, couple of weeks and you should be good as new. (The only slight issue which remains from mine is I don't seem to be able to raise the right hand side of my mouth as much as i can my left when smiling - or at least it feels like it to me - feels like my smile is slightly lopsided but nobodies ever mentioned it no pretty sure its not noticeable).
it is now

One of my little sisters had bells palsy and ringworm (where your hair falls out) at the same time, apparently she contracted both from a public swimming pool in London. Being the caring older brother that I am, I called her pirate for a few weeks and kept saying "ooooh aaaaarrrrrrrrr" She was fine and we laugh about it now.

Note to self, don't go swimming in London. Get better soon, leethefish

Redsgirl - I don't believe Bells Palsy can be contracted via a public swimming pool, unless you are up to some very extreme activities which I would think are highly improbable. Carry on swimming.

Had a couple of work mates have it. Course of antibiotics and both recovered fully.
Once you have had it once you can be susceptible to getting it again
Good luck with a hopefully swift recovery
hmmm think you meant to post in the "I've got syphillis thread". Get well soon OP!
