Incred coincidence as I have just saw your check in at Nandos.

Enjoy.

haven't been for about 6 months, so yes, pretty incred.  It was like the Nando's gods were making me go.  Fancied it as soon as I answered your question, then about 10 minutes later Hannah said 'can we go to Nando's?'.  I can't be ignoring signs like that - I had no choice Grin

For completeness, today I had cheddar instead of halloumi and garlic bread in place of macho peas.

Ha - I was actually really puzzled by this until he told me to check his facebook page.  What's not to love about window shopping for cushions and bed linen?!  As an added treat that was followed by a walk around Staples.  I have a bit of a weird stationery fetish.

Parkrun again this morning. Mainly positive - was really pleased with my time of 29.15 which is faster than I thought I was capable of atm.  Also no niggles from the calf (in fact, legs felt great throughout), but was battling with my general (un)fitness. I was pretty much wrecked afterwards (to the point where some woman came over to check I was ok as she thought I might be having a seizure - I reassured her I was just having a nice little lie down on the grass Cheesy).

Keeping up that pace over 10k, which is pretty much what I'd be needing to do to get my PB, really doesn't feel like it's going to be possible in a fortnight, so I'm going to be relying a bit on adrenaline on the day I think!

With less than a fortnight to go and still nothing further than 5k covered in training I decided to attempt to run home from work this evening.  It's just over 7 miles, with a few steep hills along the way.  I went out with the aim of running at least half, and walking where I needed to, which is what I did.  Pretty pleased with 10k in 1.09 given aforementioned circumstances and the heat.

Had a really good parkrun this morning - was pretty hot even though it was early, but managed a new PB and felt much more comfortable over the course than I did last week - my fitness is definitely returning, and I reckon the 10k PB next week could still be a goer Smiley

Only six days to go until the race, and feeling really positive all round (in fact i'm finding it hard not to feel super happy about anything on such a beautiful day as today!). Tonight i'll be doing my last 'long' run before the race. Taking a new route home from work, about 5-6 miles of which will be along the grand union canal - itching to get out there now! I'll probably then just put in a couple of 2-3 milers wednesday and friday, then all set for the 10k on sunday.

On the fundraising side of things, donations to cancer research uk hit £385 yesterday - a whopping 154% of my original target. Thank you so much to those of you who have generously given - it really will make a difference - i'm truly humbled.

Enjoy the sunshine all Cool

Like.

Weather like this isn't for PBs.  It's about getting round in one piece.
