There is no better feeling than rocking up in a city for the first time, with nowhere to stay and everything new - so liberating.

LONDON 1926 IN COLOUR!
Pioneering filmmaker Claude Friese-Greene brought these picture-postcard scenes to life with a specially-devised colour film process.

That is a wonderful photograph Mr Amatay.

The longer you look at it, the more it says.

Just noticed this thread, great stuff.

The last few reminded me of the work of Roger Mayne, a great British Street Photographer.

One of my favorite pictures.

This photo is from car exhibition in Moscow at 1971.

If somebody heard a popular catchphrase "there is no sex in the USSR", he'll understand why I find this picture so awesome.  Cheesy

A guy called Rob Baker has a great Pinterest board where he collects old photos - http://pinterest.com/mrnickel/pins/

You can lose yourself in them - here's a few.

Once a thing's been done, it's been done. So why all this nostalgia? I mean, for the 60s and 70s, you know, looking backwards for inspiration, copying the past. How's that rock 'n' roll? Do something of your own. Start something new. Live your life now.
