Marc Naarden might have started the day ahead of the pack, but now he's sitting on over 260,000!  Chip leader by a mile.  And he's on Julian's table.

Julian tells me that this Marc fellow just can't miss today - here's a hand in which he knocked out a little stack which is a tad unusual:

Marc raises,  and the short stack decides (a bit strangely) to just call for about half his stack.  But he pushed the rest in on the  two spades flop.  It turned out he had  .  Marc called him with  ...
Turn:
River:

And he knocked out yet another player with the straight.

Julian is now on around 60k.

He raised under the gun with  . The big blind moved all-in with  . Julian called as folding would only leave him with 15k.

The flop delivered a very welcome queen.

Goooo Jooools!

Julian makes a good call - in one of those small vs big blind situations he made up the blind with J9 and they proceeded to check until the river when his opponent bet 3k.  Julian called with Jack high - and it was good.

The lights have been dimmed out here (why do we always seem to get sat in the hallway) and the room is quickly filling with hundreds of guests.  We may have to up and move back into the Press Room - where unfortunately Snoopy's internet connection isn't too happy - in a little while, but we will try to stick it out for a while.

I nice gentleman in black tie just asked if we were here for the Prince's Baptism, or something.  There's an explanation of it all for you!

I assume Snippy has said yes and is now heading for the royal celebration buffet?

We tried to move but Snoopy's internet connection isn't having it.  Temperamental technology...  So it's back in the hall where the guests seem to be drifting off somewhere anyway, and the band has dispersed.  Back to the poker.
