Someone post the Olympic basketball clip, please. Brazil v someone, I think...?

Carlson is commentating for the BBC with John Ameichi and manages to get hit in the head with the ball at the buzzer somehow. One of the oddest pieces of commentary you're likely to hear.

I like any commentator who is able to explain something to you in such a way as you are able to look out for something to happen that you otherwise wouldn't have appreciated.

In golf: "now, he has a tough lie here on the edge of the green, so it's a delicate chip with a seven iron for Poulter. He needs to get the ball to bounce on the ridge about twenty feet from the hole and it should just hold it up. These greens are fast and there's a pronounced camber from right to left after that, so watch out for the break."

In snooker: "Ronnie played for the blue to go into the pack but he's come a little too far. He's straight on the brown, so it will need to be a halfball yellow into the green pocket. Two cushions round the angle and he should be back for the red nearest the pink spot. If he overhits it, he should still be able to take it into the middle. That's what these players look for: options"

In American football: "watch Megatron, here, on the replay. He knows the ball is coming his way and he's in treble coverage. The play has been called and he has nowhere else to run to in such a short space of time. All his energy needs to be focused on catching this ball, so he takes half a step back to get the safety out of his way and then he springs forward over the corner, using those huge arms to take the catch. He watches the ball all the way in, whatever else is going on around him"

You get the idea.

Carlson is the boss.

Best commentator/analyst of any sport on British tv at the moment.

Some of his jokes go a little flat sometimes, and this was very much the case last night.

But he acknowledged his mistake and let's hope that is the last we hear about it.

Heaven help us if we are inflicted with another Halling or Reynolds.

Agree with the crowd on Carlson. Best sports analyst on British TV still for sure.

It seems Rodgers is out with broken collarbone and might make it back for the post season.

Hi Phil, sad news, I love watching Rodgers in full flow. Surely Detroit are worth a big bet for the division now? I've taken a decent chunk at 11/4.

I saw this and immediately rushed to check who I had as my backup in the league I have Rodgers in - thinking to myself that I had already used my waiver for that week so I was, well, screwed.

My backup? Romo.

I can relax a bit now Smiley Still sucks though, was hoping to catch the Packers game when I am in LV on Sunday.

I'm sure you're a lovely fella, but could any of that have been more thin?!

Wink

Sorry, couldn't resist. At least it's not our league!

If it makes you feel better, I'm in a 3rd league. My opponent last week had quit the game so he had no QB or K (both on bye). I had Jamaal Charles, Rivers, Ridley, Garcon and AJ Green. Needless to say I was pretty confident.

This morning when I checked it I nearly threw up. He might have had 2 bye players, but he also had Riley Cooper, Eddie Lacy, DeSean Jackson and to top it off, Andre Johnson. Combined total of those 4 players? 116.60.

FML. Battered by a team with no QB.

You think Green Bay makes the playoffs without Rodgers?
