Looking forward to your report Chompy. Saw highlights of the Stevenage game and we were fizzing it around like fancy dans. Hope they haven't got too cocky.

To be fair - Millwalls new front pairing does seem a significant upgrade.

At Lewes vs a Brighton development XI tonight and Brighton have a player on the teamsheet named Matthew Benham. A trialist they don't want to name? Seems like its probably a Tony Bloom troll.

I'm a Lewes season ticket holder. We looked pretty decent. Not sure any of those kids are likely to trouble your first team, though I'd imagine the best youngsters would be with the first team during the preseason.

Wow impressive.
Yep that's our under 18s. Our good youth players will play 45 mins at Crawley like the other friendlies. The striker who played tonight has played 2 or 3 first team games 18 months ago though.
I work in bell lane, by the swan pub! Have my lunch down by lewes ground usually, nice little town.
Good luck for the new season.

Incredibly disappointing to be a Wednesday fan at the moment, we've made no moves whatsoever. If it wasn't for two weak sides in Yeovil and Donny coming up, then is be very worried about our chances.
We need strikers & quick.
I struggle to understand Barnsley signings though. COG is very 'meh', Nyatanga wasn't overly wanted by the faithful at Bristol City & Cofie made no impression at League One level.
COG is far from 'meh'.His form was outstanding in the second half of the season. Nyatanga didnt do too well last year but he was solid when on loan with us from Stoke. Coife wont be starting for us, he's one for the development squad. We've also signed Jennings who could be class and a big unit of a defender today who I dont know much about. We've kept all the players we wanted from last year. We're one striker short of a very good championship squad. I have so much faith in Dave Flitcroft. The bloke installs confidence in the fans and players. There's been some exciting changes at board level too. Any Barnsley fan will tell you its the most optimistic we've been since our return to the championship. Cue 0-6 drubbing to Wigan on opening day.

Crawley looked good last night. Will be up there, we won 2-0 with our reserves but they knocked ball around very well and have a good bright young manager.
Notice sheff wed have signed a 6ft 6 striker.

Is that some sort of record?

Watched Barnsley lose 3-1 to a very good Bordeaux team tonight, but am encouraged by what I saw, particularly from new signings Jennings and M'voto.
Bordeaux are the current French Cup holders. The next game at Oakwell is against the current FA Cup holders, which is a coincidence I expect never to be repeated.

He did everything right in his 45 minutes tonight - won everything in the air and made a couple of crucial tackles and blocks. Early days but he could well be the commanding presence we need in defence.
