QPR certainly the right side of variance.
Outplayed convincingly again today, but still managed to win.
First time we've had 6 clean sheets in a row for 50 years though, must say something.
Interesting to note Brighton and Bolton are the only two teams we've faced so far who were in the top 10 of the betting pre season.

QPR seem to be getting the rub of the green recently, remind me of Hull who bored everyone to promotion last season.

The Watford v Norwich game was a bizarre one. Enjoyable though.
An even first half, Norwich unlucky to go in 1-0 behind
From 45th to 80th minute Watford absolutely battered them, and could have been 4-0 up. They had a settle for 2 in the end.
Then Norwich scored a great goal out of nothing, and everything changed. Panic ensued in the Hornets team, referee added on 5 mins injury time for little obvious reason, and Hooper equalised with the last touch of the game after continual waves of Norwich attacks. Norwich the better team in extra time (looked fitter and stronger) and won 3-2.
Footnote - first time I have seen Hooper. Has he always been such a big unit? Or has he been tucking into Delia's pies? Obviously no problem with his fitness as he made the 120 mins easily, but he didn't "look" very conditioned. Had a bit of the Jon Parkin about him.

Rumours, as yet unconfirmed, that we're getting Jack Butland on a 3 month loan.
He'll certainly get plenty of practice ahead of the World Cup if so.

Bit too early to judge - he's not the biggest problem in our defence, that's for sure! I think he'll be a good signing for us over the course of the season, but not stood out so far.

Went to Watford v Wigan. A draw was a fair result - Wigan shaded it in a poor spectacle. Will take the win though - makes up for losing at Blackpool after battering them.

For the first time this season I've seen a small light at the end of the tunnel at Hillsborough.
Signing 3 players who have performed historically in the Championship might give Wednesday hope of kick starting their season.
McPhail in midfield ran the game on Saturday and looks a class act. He tired a little in the second half but overall had a big impact.
Roger Johnson at centre half looked a composed decent player who can help steady the ship with Gardner out injured.
Matty Fryatt has signed on loan from Hull and only came on as a sub but he's an intelligent player.
Although I backed Donny on Saturday I have to say Wednesday dominated the game (which is rare!) and Donny were lucky as they were very poor.
We play Brighton away in midweek which on paper looks like a hammering - but strange things happen in the Championship.

How long does that put him out for?
Time to get out of my buy of Brighton league points I imagine.

Good result for Wednesday last night at Brighton. As I alluded to in my last post things look better than they did certainly in terms of performances if not results.
I had a suspicion we might nick it last night and had a small bet on a 1-0 Wednesday win at 13-1 :-(
Still its going to be a long old season.
