Hi Mark

I asked Simon about this yesterday

The system is as follows

All Sky online qualifers have to be in at the start, and blinding away if necessary if not there at the start

All DTD Shop and Cash buy ins who were in the building when the seat draw is to go up (and this is a bit earlier for Sky events with a lot of inexperienced live players who liek to see where they are going to be etc etc)  go in the draw with these guys

If you arrive after the seat draw has been published, you are then seated asap but not in that seat draw

Its not an alternate list, but it may be a waiting list of a short while depending on dealer availability

The reason for this is that from the DTD buy ins some prefer to go in late and they then take a full stack into play on arrival. For example I knew of one shop buy in who couldn't arrive til 3pm. For this reason non Sky Poker buy ins are only put in when they arrive at the cash desk

I agree its not ideal to all be seated together at outset

I bought into this tournament online via the DTD shop over 48 hours before the start and arrived at the venue in good time at 13:40. On arrival I informed the cash desk that I was there and was assured that my chips would be in play at the start.

I was therefore surprised when my name did not appear on the seat draw. I checked with the cash desk who then informed me that I was an alternate and on the waiting list! Sure enough a new table was opened within 5 minutes of the start. However, this meant that the table contained only players who had bought in directly and no online qualifiers. This didn't seem quite right when I had bought in two full days before and arrived in good time.

Just a minor gripe really as it made for a tough day having Ben Vinson and Jonathan Gill as blinds to my button! Apart from that (oh and Rastafish chirping for the Sky Poker camera on the next table) it was an enjoyable tournament with a great structure.

Hi Mr Sharky,

Just to reiterate Tighty's reply.

It is the Sky Poker Tour, so we accept full respnsibility for these matters.

Like Tighty, I raised this matter with Simon Trumper, & he gave me the same explanation. I trust Simon as a close personal friend, & as someone I trust to do a lot of business with, but in truth, I never really grasped his reasoning on this.

Anyway, I hope it never impacted too much on your enjoyment of the day.

On a personal note, has anyone ever told you you look the very spit of Mark S (Mark Strahan)? I really thought you WERE him yesterday.

Must admit, I fell by the same sword and bought in directly through DTD shop, to learn my name wasn't on the list, despite getting there in good time. Did annoy me, because I generally buy in online for DTD comps and have had no problems before.

Just one of those things. Could have been better publicised but there we go.

Was a cracking comp when I got in and had a fab day.

...hence why I'm playing the Super 50 after I've noshed up this lamb dinner. #britsgottabrit

Expect you'd need to head to DTD's site or the Sky site for that.

Had a great day yesterday, spoilt only by having to share a room with the snoring elephant, that is otherwise known as Eso Kral.

Comedy moment in the smoking area, guy with a tshirt saying hit squad on it, trying to hit a woman he was arguing with. Always wondered why they were called that.

The latest leg of the 2013 Sky Poker Tour took place at DTD in Nottingham this weekend with a £200 Six Max Event that sold out with 246 runners. It was won by former UKIPT Nottingham finalist and Sky Poker regular Ian "Macmonster" Senior who took home over £12,300 for his outright victory ahead of Ross "rossybee16" Bennett and James "Savy1224" Savastano in second and third respectively.

Once again an SPT event was played in a fantastic atmosphere at the wonderful Dusk Till Dawn Club as befits one of the UK's leading community Poker Tours with the line up ranging from Poker professionals to those playing live Poker for the first time. Cashers included the leading DTD money winner Colburn "Rastafish" Tomlin, former SPT Glasgow winner Jamie Rhind and Ryan Spittles the Sky Poker analyst who finalled by was knocked out by Ian Senior who flopped a set of sixes against Ace-King on an Ace high board early on the final

The Sky Poker Tour now moves on to its next event at the Aspers Casino in Newcastle on 6-7 September, and satellite qualification for that leg of the 2013 Tour begins on www.skypoker.com on Wednesday 31st July.
