The games broke early tonight so I thought i'd use this time to start a diary as i'm already a bit of a lurker on here and could do with getting more involved!

My names Fred and i'm 22 years old currently residing in Nottingham. I'm mainly a cash game player, playing the 50/1, 1/1 and 1/2 and occasionally flicking it in for the deepstacks.

Poker has always been something i've done on the side as an additional income stream both during and post-uni, however my plan now is to put more hours into the game and play a lot more events both in the UK and abroad over the next 12 months.

I started taking the game more seriously whilst at Uni in Derby as the new Riverlights Casino there was pretty sick and had good games running throughout the week. The games unfortunately have died there a little recently and so i've become one of the Nottingham regs which i'm sure is boosting Alex, Nik, Sean and the other regs hourlys nicely  Cheesy

My main problem atm is that my life expenditure is ridic high as i've basically been living in hotels for the past month ballin' outta control. I have now realised this has to stop if i'm ever going to make any money so am hoping to sort out an apartment within the next few months.

The aim of this diary will be to keep track of what i'm doing and in both life and with poker and hopefully set some meaningful goals that can be achieved throughout the year.

Will post more in this later but I look forward to seeing you all at the tables Smiley

Leave me alone.

Cheers mate, definitely agree with you. I keep seeing Alex pile money in with suited deuces so should be pretty profitable Cheesy

Wise word of the day? Cheesy

Despite my surname, there aren't many wise words that come out of my mouth, usually the complete opposite tbh.

Wise so serious?

Haha, I do want to try and get to the 'Premiership Reg' status so will have to adhere to the etiquette guidelines that have been set out  Wink

So tonight turned out to be a pretty fun/degen session...

Started off at DTD where I got seated on a 1/1 next to Matt Harris where I didn't stay long but managed to double through by winning a flip and then whacking Matt with a number of props that we were playing. Do seem to be running pretty golden on props atm Cheesy

Then headed down to Gala with Alex where we decided to play some OFC whilst waiting for the cash games to start. Because normal open face isn't degen enough, we decided to play with 7 cards, passing 2 pre and then all deuces were wild @ £2/point. For those of you that understand this, you realise how swingy this can be and how much money can soon be passed between players! Ended up a small loser in the pre cash game session however managed to lock up a nice win after the game broke and once we moved up to £5 a point. Hustle confirmed Wink

The cash game itself was pretty dull and didn't really play many hands throughout the night, however there was some good table banter with George from DTD making an appearance and seemingly running over the table and owning Alex in the pots they played together

Really loving OFC atm and will hopefully be able to squeeze in a game tomorrow, however I need to try and remain disciplined and make sure I put in enough hours playing holdem to actually earn a living!

Here's a quick picture of Alex behind the OFC winners tower Wink

Can you manage 1 hotel for every three nights? So have a long degen session followed by a day sleeping? Obviously check in at 1 check out at 10 can be a real issue. I stayed in some Bb's in west bridge ford for a while before getting a house which rangedfrom £15-£30 a night might be worth a look to keep things cheap especially if you go in looking for a cash deal!

Good luck with the diary by the way I'm Callum and we have played a little bit before!

Not a bad idea mate although I think by the end of the 3 days I would be like a zombie! Did have a session last week though where I basically got back from Turkey and stayed out for 48 hours running on nothing but Red Bull. Was in a pretty bad way by the end and my decision making at the end wasn't exactly at it's best!

Had a pretty brutal night tonight at Gala where we managed to get an uncapped .50/1 going with an average stack of probably £600+. Was a great game to be in but unfortunately was on the wrong side of some pretty big pots.

First big one of the night involved getting ~£500 in on a   three diamonds Two Diamonds board run out with the mighty   which was unfortunately no good vs   . One of them fold pre ldo spots but hey ho.

Second pot was vs PJ where I raise to £10 UTG+1 with   , he peels on the button and UTG flats. The flop comes   and UTG leads out for £20 and I make it £65. PJ then 3bets to £145 playing around £600 and I cover. UTG folds and I decide to flat with the aim of keeping in any weaker draws and check jamming any non board pairing turn. Turn is the   and PJ jams. Wasn't loving it as it was for around £100 more than pot but figured i'm ahead of some of his semi bluffing range and have good equity vs his value range so flick it in and unfortunately lose to   on the  three clubs river.

Luckily managed to grind quite a bit back by the end of the night and also had another good win playing OFC during the game which limited the damage for the night a little.

Callum aka 'BorntoBubble' made an appearance which added some comedy value to the table Cheesy Also quite enjoyed hearing an elderly gentleman call Alex a "smart-arsed twat" when Alex tried to talk him into calling his bet. Great read there chap Wink

Planning on playing at DTD tomorrow to hopefully lock up a decent win before heading back to Boston on Sunday for a big family BBQ!

My only goal in poker is to reach it into everyone's blogs about a hand they lost to me. No dreams of a bracelet or anything like that, just pain to Notts regs.
