Ok so I had a bit of a mare tonight...
Today began by getting up quite early (compared to my usual 6 o'clock wake up) and going to see the new Alan Partridge film "Alpha Papa" at the cinema. Absolutely loved it! Best comedy I've seen in a while and would definitely recommend it, especially if you're a fan of the Partridge.
We then went and played mini golf which despite claiming I was good at golf, managed to joint lose with Alex. Would have won it if he hadn't luck boxed a hole in one!
Then played some chinese at Gala obvs. Was supposed to be a trial run of the new Tuesday OFC tournament that Gala are planning to start running in September but unfortunately got cancelled so turned into a 5 handed game for cash. Locked up a small win after some classic punts ended up paying off.
Went to Alea afterwards and by this time I was getting pretty tired. Couldn't really be arsed to play however a really juicy 1/2 game got going with money flying about everywhere so thought I should probably get a few hours in.
First 'fun' hand of the night:
£8 straddle is on and I make it £25 with

in middle position. 4 callers and we go to a flop of

.
Villain1 leads for half pot, Villain2 flats and I flick it in with backdoor equity playing about £650 and covering both.
Turn is the

and it's checked to me and I check behind.
River is the

. Villain1 checks, Villain2 then bets less than half pot. At this point I considered raising for value but thought i'd take the lower variance line and call. Villain turns over

and I embarrassingly turn over

having completely misread my hand and called £105 on the river with 8 high. Marv.
Second hand:
After this slight mistake I was a bit frustrated with myself but not necessarily on tilt. £4 straddle is on and I raise to £15 UTG with

. 3 people flat and a shortstack jams £150
and a guy tank flats behind him.
I don't usually base a lot of my decisions on live tells but thought that the initial jammer looked competent enough to squeeze with a wide range here and the flatter would call with a lot of pairs/suited aces etc. Unfortunately I miscounted the second guys stack and didn't realise he had as much behind him when I rejammed...
He called pretty quickly with

and unfortunately the initial guy had

so I wasn't in the best of shape.

dealer?

flop, brick turn, brick river. That'll do

Both hands show that it's really not a good idea to play when tired and stupid mistakes can cost you a lot of money. Unless you run as good as I do that is and then it doesn't even matter
Final hand of the night
This was a personal fav although i'm sure my good friend Nik Flanagan won't agree

£4 straddle is on, UTG calls and I raise to £20 with

. 3 callers including Nik.
Flop comes

. Nik checks, I check, other 2 guys check.
Turn is the

. Can't really rep a lot on this turn however have more equity now and don't think i'm going to get hero'd a lot of the time. Nik checks, I bet £45, two guys fold and Nik makes it £130 with about £350 behind. Now i'm not saying he would never take this line with a strong hand but I had never seen him do it however had seen him do it with straight draws/gutshots and air especially when HU.
I elect to wager all of my betting discs and surprisingly Nik snaps. I obvs grimace and asked what he had and to my surprise he declared flush draw. How high Nik? Ten high. Oh good

Nik had

and after running it twice I managed to scoop with 2 flushes. Was a pretty sick hand however after getting whacked twice by him last week, I don't feel too bad

Gonna get some sleep now and then probably going to go to Coventry tomorrow and play cash whilst the Goliath is on. Haven't decided on whether to play the Goliath itself yet but will decide on that tomorrow.
Hopefully see some of you there!
