For me to be willing to fold this I've got to see villain as capable of check-calling a higher set on the turn and I don't think many do this so I'm happy to put more money in.

I also think we should be raising the flop a lot.

We cant raise this flop alot, we have the one valid hand to do so, alot of the time we will not...........


don't think we should ever be raising the flop after cold calling really.

Tough spot for sure and see why you folded and couldn't blame anyone for calling off either. You have under repped on flop and turn thus encouraging him to bluff the river which makes the case to call off but not sure it is a bluff. If he has AK i think he flats the river mostly.  unless he is good enough to be trying to get you off a chop with AK.  He either has AK AA KK AQ maybe 10Js on a few occasions. Hmmmmmm.
